itsdominik 16,845 Posted July 3, 2017 Share Posted July 3, 2017 Last week there was another discussion on marriage equality in Austria, but unfortunately it was boycotted by the conservatives and right-wing parties (ÖVP amd FPÖ) http://m.oe24.at/oesterreich/politik/Rot-Gruen-Pink-fuer-Homo-Ehe/289161400 However, the Greens, NEOS, and the SPÖ said they would keep fighting for full equality until everybody in our country has the same rights. And since friday, when it was announced that the ÖVP and FPÖ blocked marriage equality once again, the public has been fighting for out right harder than ever. People meet in front of the headquaters of the ÖVP and FPÖ and are having demonstrations there multiple times a week, people are recording videos demanding equality and share it social media and float Sebastian Kurz, boss of the conservatives with e-mails, tweets and facebook posts. What amazes me the most is how many straight people have joined the fight for equality! The pressure on the parties that blocked marriage equality here is getting higher and higher every day and now also lots of celebrities have joined the fight for freedom. Yes, since few days ago Germany legalized it, many countries are now discussing this topic and many of them are following Germany's steps, also LGBTQ+ community is more active WW with these type of things getting recognition and being an official thing. Why is it so bad to post threads like this?
