IF LG6 Sounds Alot Like The Cure

Would you be mad if come late 2017, early 2018 Gaga drops a new album and it sounds like The Cure...like....alot like The Cure (aka if it sounds alot like everything else on the radio right now). I'm saying 15 tracks that have that tropical house sound that won't go away.

How would you take it? What if the lead was basic but super popular? Would you feel weird about her or why she would do that? Do you think Gaga genuinely likes what the sound is right now, or is she gunning to keep good with pop radio for a while in case the acting doesn't pan out the way she wants? Is it worth the compromise to get some of the younger kids from the upcoming generation in good graces (We have to realize alot of us who started listening to Gaga in middle/high school are not the same as these high school kids coming up towards 2020).

I'm just curious if people would think of this as a sellout or a smart move to maintain face with the GP to push weird later on? Or should Gaga continue to make unorthodox records until she can never break the Top 40 again and is considered "that weird girl who was popular in 2008-2012) and tried to become an actress.

Personally I like The Cure, and would be okay with the album being frontloaded with pop like that, and slowly gets weirder and weirder as the album goes on. Like tracks 1-5 radio friendly digestible single contenders, 6-10 fan pander bops, 11-15 strange/new/experimentation that makes you think

Thoughts?

If LG6 is anything close to the cure, I would decide to STAN forever.

I'd be a bit underwhelmed, but the girl writes what she writes

I'm up for anything- TC's a grower on me.

Walk down the runway but don't puke, it's okay. You just had 10 donuts today. Without frosting.

People are overreacting. Cure is not garbage or bad/basic as some claim. It's a catchy tune. Don't forget that 9 years ago you were all popping your bussies to Just Dance.

I wouldn't be happy. It's too mainstream and I'd get bored of it quickly, tbh.

It would be the first Gaga album i would hate, I would probably listen to it one time and then drop it.

I believe The Fame was a brilliant decision of Gaga to make, even though it is the worst album she's made, and I don't remotely like it, it was smart, because it was an album of Top 10 hits that got her name out there.

That being said, if she made a The Cure, I would believe it to be a smart move, but it would have its fifteen minutes just like her debut...

Mad? No. Would I not like it? Yes. I love TC, but i'm looking for that classic Gaga Pop/Rock/EDM, if I wanted that tropic sound I would go listen to someone else because there's already too much of that going around.

She's given us five quality eras so if she wants to do a commercial one then I'm totally here for it :whitney: Of course I wouldn't be that into the material itself but it's not going to change the way I look at her at all :laughga:

I'll still see the loving, caring woman with a true talent for creating music :kara:

Yeah but that was wayyyy different because although Just Dance sounds typical now, it sounded completely different than anything on the radio at the time. No electronic dance artist had debuted like that before. And then swung again with a second single that was even bigger. Most of the radio was R&B/Hip Hop Club Bangers with the occasional emo rock hit. And every music video was someone dancing in a basic top in a club with a few strobe lights or a girl crying a rooftop/sofa. Any weird music video was considered "indie" or "hipster". Gaga completely changed that and Just Dance was considered "the future of pop music".....which....time has proven....it was. If it weren't for The Fame, everyone from Calvin Harris to David Guetta to The Chainfloppers wouldn't have a damn career. TBH....I don't think Katy Perry would have ever made Teenage Dream that way had Gaga not popped up with TF, and TFM. Have you heard One of the Boys(has borderline homophobic rock pop) to Teenage Dream (includes heavy electronic and r&b flavor and songs about acceptance)? Katy literally went from 2000s pop to 2010s pop overnight. And what artist blew up in between those albums? GAGA.

Difference is: The Cure literally is Gaga taking the already popular Chainsmokers sound and her saying "let me make it better". Its not anything new, despite Just Dance and The Cure both technically being "Electronic Dance Pop singles". Comparison = Inappropriate. lol

Radio Ga Ga

A lot of great artists have had at least one era where they conform to radio so they could retain relevancy:

Madonna's Bedtime stories mimicked the mariah carey kinda stuff on the radio

David bowie's Let's dance era was also his attempt to become mainstream again (and it succeeded)

As long as it's quality music, I really don't mind
