But with the availability of smart phones and the Internet, it will be highly visible and repulsive and the effects on politics will be enormous. It could possibly be avoided, if we had a President who cared for the people in the country he served, but Trump himself regularly encourages hostility towards a full half of the population. They are portraying liberals as these figures who are "assassinating " real news with fake news (using violent imagery right out the gate), brainwashing children into thinking the president is a threat at the level of Hitler, using hollywood to push their agenda and spread propaganda, implying that we have this alternate leader (Obama) who is getting people to rise up onto the streets to "smash windows, burn cars... Bully and terrorise the law-abiding" and say that the police will have no option but to use violence to "stop the madness" while liberals use such violence to just further propagate their evil plans. They call upon people to "fight this violence of lies" (wtf do they mean by "violence of lies"?? It's a BS phrase, they are not just simply calling liberals 'liars' they have been portraying them as actually violent throughout the ad...) with a "clenched fist of truth" (once again using violent rhetoric and imagery). It then offers the NRA as the home of freedom and as a solution to these violent, evil, powerful liberals... I mean, the NRA doesn't stand for "Nurturing Reconciliation (between) Adversaries"... The National Rifle Association being offered as a ****ing safe space for freedom () and as a solution to the problem of these liberal terrorists taking over the country is a bit on the nose. The ad flashes imagery of 'violent liberals' waving flags reading "This is War!" and flashes a picture of a Trump supporter with a Trump shirt bleeding from his nose with a bandage around his head as the voiceover talks about how they "Bully and terrorise the law-abiding". They show people burning flags, attacking police officers. Liberals in this ad are powerful figures who spread propaganda through the news media and Hollywood, indoctrinate children, have an alternate leader who rallies them to violently uprise and attack the good Trump supporting folk... The liberals in this ad are an immediate and serious threat to the country, they are a threat to children, they are violent and they are basically already at war with America.... "The only way we save OUR country and OUR freedom is to fight this violence..." The liberals are an existential threat to the U.S and the freedoms it offers. There is only one way to save the country! With a clenched fist!!! Join the NRA!! It is as obvious as it possibly can be without them actually shouting "WE ARE AT WAR WITH THE VIOLENT LIBERALS!! I really don't care if you support gun rights, this isn't about any of that. I don't see how making an ad claiming liberals control the media, use Hollywood to push propaganda, indoctrinate youth to hate the president, have a de-facto leader that incites violence on the streets against Trump supporters = "We just want to spread our message and promote gun ownership!! <3 <3 <3" Like... No... Listen to the language she is using, take a look at the visuals they are using. The NRA could make a perfectly fine advertisement that didn't incite violence the way they clearly have here. I would disagree with it ideologically, but I really wouldn't have a problem with that. What I have a problem with is the representation of liberals as an existential threat to America and freedom who control the media, have the power of Hollywood behind them as their propaganda unit, indoctrinate children to be anti-american, promote violence on the streets and attack law-abiding citizens... That's nuts. It's dangerous and irresponsible for the NRA to portray liberals as such a huge imminent threat to America and freedom and then position themselves (The National Rifle Association) as "The only way we save OUR country and OUR freedom" and "fight this violence..."
