Didn't she say that after The Girlie Show though? I think that's why she waited til 2001 to make a "comeback" tour

No, it was after BA. She was originally going to tour for Bedtime Stories until she landed Evita and then the same with ROL until she took the role for the Next Best Thing.

What a reductive chanteuse tbh, Gaga just shot A Star Is Born and is gonna tour for Joanne anyway. But thanks for correcting me, I remember madonna saying the "don't believe me again" thing in an interview but I wasn't sure when it was from xD

I'm the b*tch with the sauce, apparently

She'll still perform just not on a big stage? She'll still do tv, radio, charity events in sure...right?

Well Adele's music isn't Tour worthy anyways because I think tours should be more for music you can actually scream, shout and dance too anyways.

But even so this is a bad move because touring gives artists longevity, look at Madonna; she hasn't had a hit  or a good song frankly  in a long time but her touring force keeps the gays happy.

I mean, she obviously can fill out stadiums all over the world, but it's just not her thing and we have to understand that...

I was just talking about how some celebrities are doing a reunion tour a mere 2 years after their farewell tour. It's so transparent in that world. Say you're leaving just to find out how many devout fans you have, how many fans will still pay money to see you, how many will miss you. Then, if demand is through the roof, plan a comeback several years in the future and have it be all emotional like "A big part of me was missing without performing to you."

I have no doubt that touring is something that Adele finds a bit tiring and she'd really rather not do it. But considering she only intends on releasing albums occasionally and the next album might be several years away, why should the concept of touring be such an overwhelming prospect to her? In her 9 years of fame, she's done 3 tours. Gaga's on her 9th year of fame and she's done 5 (including C2C) and is about to embark on a 6th this year. That's more than Taylor's done in 11 years of fame. That's the same amount that Rihanna's done in 12 years of fame. That's the same amount that Beyonce's done in 15 years of solo fame (and I struggle to call her very first tour a tour anyway). I mean, let's put the idea of exhausting touring into perspective here! Most artists tour with every album in the early years and release an album every 2 years. Touring every 2 years is a daunting prospect. But if touring is only something you do every 4 years or so, is that really so awful? Yeah, I get it, she wants to be around her husband and son, but take them with you! She has more than enough money and devices to either take them with her or do Sype calls every day. Plenty of kids have parents who travel for work, it's doesn't make you a bad parent.

It blows me away how Adele chose fame but at the same time, didn't want to play the game at all. She only wants to release albums occasionally, she only wants to do limited promotion, she doesn't even want to tour. Why did she choose to become famous, then? If you want to put music out but don't want all the big expectations that go with it, don't go to stage school or apply at big record labels. Choosing to have the whole world listen to your music but then choosing to give them very little just doesn't compute.

Well, the Evita project was going on for a number of years and since the 80's she had been lobbying to get the role when it kept getting brought into production. She had done preparations for the tour but once Evita was a done deal, she focused on it, researched the story, talked to the locals, and then the pregnancy of her first daughter happened while on location. And not to be rude but Bedtime Stories isn't a record to tour since it's fairly mellow, I'm glad she waited until DWT to tour for BS/ROL/Music.

ROL tour was planned but was nixed for another movie. I wouldn't call her reductive when she still kept her relatively busy being a mother, soundtracks, movies, and ROL promotion. Not a fair comparison.

Bummer. :noparty: I had tickets for the 25 tour, but sold them because it interfered with a play I was doing.

Still, made back 3x what they were worth :reductive:

You didn't miss anything... she wasn't good the performance I went too! She was nervous and sang four songs completely out of key. Touring Isnt for everyone. Btw... I'm still waiting to smell you during the Joanne tour :gaysia: so restock on that fragrance lol :hor:

Well thank heavens I saw her in Houston last year!!!

Adele is so timeless and I know I will always enjoy her music. Sad to think I may never see her again, but at least I got to see her at her first and last show in Houston.

I'm fairly sure she said this on her last tour for 21 ..... I don't think this will be her last tour!

Didn't like half of that tour get cancelled though? She had to make up those dates eventually.

Like I remember all of her Texas dates for the 21 Tour were cancelled. So she came for the 25 Tour.
