A horror series, to me, is a series only in the horror context, it doesn't have to scare the sh*t out of you. As long as it is a story in a horror context with good plot, acting, directing, then it will be considered a good TV series, at least by audience like me and by award panels.

I would just say we have different tastes.

I never said AHS wasn't a great series, I do love it. I get there are different subgenres of horror like slow-burn and psychological horror. But to me, based off AHS' atmosphere and plot structure,  is more of a dramatic horror-thriller or a thriller with horror elements as opposed to straight up horror.

Is AHS creepy? 100% yes. Is AHS scary? Sometimes, I can probably count using both hands the times I've been scared watching AHS through all 6 seasons.

I just think horror series rely too much on creepiness, because they are scared to fully scare people or don't know how to fully scare people. Whereas horror movies tend to have a good mix of creepiness and scariness which makes them all the more entertaining.

This is a TV series, they're more emphatic on content/acting/plot instead of jumpscares or scariness, which I prefer.

If you want to be scared, you should watch horror movies instead.

But Murder House has a very unsettling psychological horror :selena:

I'm curious to see if they will add fantasy horror elements like in every previous season of AHS or if they'll go with actual crimes and do something more "realistic"

I wonder if these could actually be creatures haunting the characters

I get what you mean but I don't find the need to be scared too important though. AHS keeps me entertained with the dialogue and acting between the actors, it has a good story and I settle with that.

I'm honestly excited. The political plot elements seem like they're gonna be very interesting. Hopefully this season makes up for the horror show (pun intended) that was Roanoke.

I miss Hotel tbh. :( I wish Gaga would return to the show as a main character.

I posted in another thread but they filmed scenes for this about 5mins from me, it used to be COBA'S hair Academy but it was The Butchery the day of filming, they had "protesters" outside and the lady who played Cuba's real sister on Roanoke was there too. Sarah took fan photos and such. The Orange Circle has been a hang out spot for me for like 6 years, they also filmed parts of Parks and Rec here and Big Momma's House near the circle.

Curious, maybe that Butchery on Main is where KKK members in the series will execute their victims :creepflop:

I can't believe Evan is playing a gay man 2 season in a row, we are so lucky.

I was at the filming on Wednesday, it was being shot so close to my house so me and my friends went and we scoped out the whole area, took pics, and just had a fun time.

Sarah Paulson is literally everything too, she was being filmed at night and the scene that she was doing was soooo AHS. She pulled up to the butcher, got out of the car apprehensively, and just sort of looked at the building mysteriously. I WAS SHOOK. When the filmers would say, "CUT," everyone (including me) would cheer her on and scream and she bowed and did little dances for us in between takes, such a goofy, classy lady. Truly an experience. :nick:

Is this the first season in which I will not be sexually attracted to an Evan Peters character?

Walk down the runway but don't puke, it's okay. You just had 10 donuts today. Without frosting.
