Why are you blaming religion instead of people?

It may be a sacred animal but as far as I know there's no law that forbids the consumption of beef, especially when you're not even Hindu :duck: India isn't even just a Hindu country, there are many Muslims and Christians there as well

It's the same issue that occasionally shows it's head in some extreme Muslim pockets in the U.K., they try to make their beliefs the way of life for everyone. A large majority of people living in these pockets think nothing of someone living differently to them but it only takes a small group to take what they believe should be law into their own hands.

Religion has got a lot to answer for though. Whilst modern teachings usually don't dwell on the darker side or past, it certainly plays a role in justifying some of these sick people's actions. It's about time we move away from organised religion and put a stronger focus on letting people experience their spirituality individually and letting other's live their life if they are not hurting others.

I agree that we need to have a more individualistic approach to religion, and while religion can influence people's desicisons, ultimately they are responsible for their actions. Nothing, not even religion, should in their minds, justify their actions.

I believe religion needs to evolve with the times, however, in order to do that, the people themselves need to see that. Religious texts and scripts and stuff aren't changing, however, the attitude and the mindset of the people themselves need to change in order for things like this not to happen.

A Muslim teenager was allegedly stabbed to death and several others were severely injured on a local train in Haryana on Thursday night, after a mob accused them of carrying beef in a bag, news reports have said.

The incident took place as a family of five was returning home after Eid shopping in Delhi when an altercation over seats turned communal and triggered the attack.

The report said that the deceased was identified as Hafiz Junaid. The police arrested one person on Friday in connection with this incident, and the accused has confessed to his crime.

According to the police, it was a group of 15-20 people boarded a Mathura-bound train. As the argument turned communal, they reportedly called the Muslim family "anti-nationals" and "beef eaters", before throwing their skull caps on the floor, grabbing their beards, and taunting them with abuses.

One of the accused in the incident told the media on Saturday that he regretted what transpired and that he was under the influence of alcohol on Thursday night.

The cow is considered a sacred animal in Hindu religion, and many Hindus do not eat beef (cow meat).

Don't you guys feel any shame making an outcry over fake news?

The source of this article is pro-Congress which hates the ruling party, BJP.

A drunk man killed a teen over a train seat, yet you're making this about communalism.

Hashim said a group of 15-20 people boarded the train at Okhla and asked the four to vacate the seat, which led to an argument.

“One of them pushed my brother Junaid. He initially thought that it was unintentional as the bogie was crowded. But when he did it again, my brother asked them to behave. The man got angry and threw Junaid’s skull cap on the floor. The man started calling him an anti-national and asked us all to vacate the seat,” Hashim was quoted as saying by the Hindustan Times.

Also, most of the "cow lynching" news is nothing but fabrication by the congress paid media. Note that "Muslim lynching" only happens in BJP ruling states for some reason.
