 The idea that every one of those 60 million+ voters is racist or homophobic is absurd and doesn't help one bit. I'm mixed race and gay and certainly could not generalise against such a large percentage of people.

If that was literally his only voting base, he wouldn't be president.

False equivalence. The way you phrased that showed a malevolent intention. It actually reminded me of when Trump said "Maybe the second amendment guys can do something about it", which the media thought was a reference to assassinating Hillary.

Words matter and everything is on record now. You should read up on the Michelle Carter case to see how things can be perceived.

Hmm it seems unlikely. If that was the case though then surely the Democrats should have won the recent elections in Montana etc?  If people want to defeat Trump, they are going to have to stop assuming that every person or his "base" is some sort of wack job. That isn't the case. Look, I think he is a pompous asshole but even  my great Aunt thinks he's funny and "knows business" and she's Aboriginal! Anecdotal I know but people like him/dislike him for much broader reasons than the usual ones being trotted out.

That's not how it works. Those local elections are in heavily Republican areas. They were never going to go to a Democrat. The fact that a Dem got close in any of those areas shows that the tide has already started shifting.

Trump's base are wack jobs or they are gullible and we're fooled by a con man. Your aunt is correct, he is funny...he is so out of his league and ignorant, he's comical. Trump might have had a business sense (while using his Daddy's millions) years ago...but he is a **** President. A businessman might could do some good for our government, but we needed one that was actually a sane, balanced, intelligent, hard worker. Instead, we got a reality TV star businessman...the Kardashian President.
