But you can't compare objectively a song which is Top 10 thanks to a discount and a recent video release with a song that reached Top 10 on its own.

Why? Why can't I? Both songs are Top 10, discount or not, video or not, they are Top 10. See, I just did compare them. The truth is both songs are having similiar success, only stans can argue on some message boards stuff like this.

At the end of the day no one from the gp cares if MR did peak at #4 due to SB. They just don't care. Same with SS, do you think any british person is thinking wow, lets take circumstances into considerstion and declare SS being a smaller hit than the other song even when both songs, lets say, peaked at the same position?

Why do you bring up the GP when it isn't aware/doesn't care of the 99% of things we chartsters say in this thread 

Anyway yes, but me as a fan don't gloat over MR reaching #4. I mean, we know MR can't absolutely be compared to Applause reaching #4, for example.
