I don't think Calvin cares as much about the American market as we think he does. Feels is the number 4 song world wide on iTunes and has been number one pretty much everywhere else. He doesn't even promote that much his music in the US.

Worldwide? No. US? Yes, the original only peaked at 44 and the remix is the version that was going for Mariah's record.

I think the song isn't starting off so well more due to his overexposure than the song itself. I mean 2U started the decline.

The original only peaked at 44 because of radio. The original SPS will do over a million in the US with pure sales of more than 600k. That's plenty in this day and age for any song to be considered a hit. Yeah Beiber helped the remix on radio and help sell the remix of the song but the song would have done just fine in the US without Bieber except on radio. The original is selling 20k a week in pure sales on its 8th month of release.

On Friday (Aug. 25), the day of the track's commercial release, the song sold a little less than 200,000 downloads in the U.S., according to initial sales reports to Nielsen Music.

 

"Look" is also anticipated to hit the upper reaches of the Sept. 16-dated Billboard Hot 100 chart, which blends airplay, sales and streaming data, after a likely debut on the Sept. 9 list (from just airplay).

This is not the case tho

That prediction doesn't count the obvious increase in sales after the video premiere at the VMA's so later this week it will change to ~350-400k in my opinion
