Mr S 8,675
Kendrick Lamar and Ed Sheeran are guaranteed noninations. That leaves 3 spots. Bruno Mars is a good bet too and then they need a rock nomination. We're down to one spot. As of right now, that's Lorde who has a #1 album with tons of buzz and acclaim or they may go for an under the radar artists. Pop stars only receive nominations when they have huge commercial success and tons of airplay and exposure. Joanne was successful but it was a low key success that hasn't had much airplay. She has a good chance of getting a Song of the Year nomination but even that is not a sure thing. She should be nominated in pop vocal performance and pop vocal album, but won't beat Ed Sheeran. Ziggy 11,874
I feel like they may give it to DAMN. since he should have won for TPAB. Then again, that assumes the album will be submitted and there's some Grammy backlash right now among black artists and the Grammys.

The most critically acclaimed albums haven't won in the last three Grammys. Why would the formula change now. And to be fair, she doesn't have the most critically acclaimed album in the submission period, that goes to Kendrick Lamar. On the other hand, Ed Sheeran, whose album was given a 62 by metacritic is for sure getting a nom, and might win. Joanne will most likely be nominated as Gaga is back in the Grammys good graces after C2C won and TIHTY was nominated. It will also be one of the best selling albums by a female during the submission period. Neither album has a good chance of winning, but Joanne has a higher chance of being nominated. there's no formula sis.......academy choses what album wins

MichealScott 753
It's most likely going to be DAMN. it's the best reviewed album of the year and it has a number single it's also Kendrick and the Grammys love him but I would love if these two albums at least got a nom

courtneylove 171
It would be great to see another Grammy win for Ella. Do I think she'll win AOTY? Most likely not. However, Melodrama is amazing and has garnered rave reviews from critics. We can't forget about Lorde! Too important in the world of music today. O.A.N. Those of you saying Lorde "sold out", try again. She spent four years largely out of the public eye and found inspiration for her album in the most remote, unlikely places to create this masterpiece. Of course 'Green Light' sounds nothing like 'Royals', because she was fifteen years old when she wrote her debut song. For those of you who say she went full-on pop for this album - WRONG - I urge you to listen to Melodrama straight through. It should definitely change your mind! zakariah 11,722
I hate it when the grammys nominate obscure artists/albums in the 4 Major categories. OT: I think Damn deserves AOTY this year, I haven't listened to it but Kendrick's AOTY award is overdue. I feel like if Joanne gets nominated, Melodrama won't get nominated, and vice versa, because there would be too many pop albums in contention for AOTY. My prediction at the moment is: 1. Damn. - Kendrick lamar 2. Joanne - Lady Gaga / Melodrama - Lorde 3. Divide - Ed Sheeran 4. 24K Magic - Burno Mars / Starboy - The Weeknd 5. Some Rock/Indie Album
