bujibu 462 Posted June 20, 2017 Share Posted June 20, 2017 I think Lorde's production is pretty tight, unlike Gaga who has pretty much free reign over everything (which is why I feel her lyrics haven't been so strong as of late). Keep in mind Lorde is only two albums into her career while Gaga is at least five. I love Lorde's voice but I can see it become tiring in the future, and the teen metaphors/allegories won't work as well when she gets well into her 20s. Someone in another thread tried to compare Dancin' in Circles - as song about masturbation and the day reaming of getting dicked down - as a comparison for a introspective song about actual heartbreak.
