The media being ****. Surprise surprise.

They say it's the last song. They don't know us, you see. It's only the last song if we let it be.

Well, Gaga is still recovering from 2013 and she is not what she used to be, but the difference is, that Gaga is talented and had all she needed to bounce back(amazing performances, amazing live vocals, good acting skills, amazing writing skills, critical acclaim and etc.), what is Katy? She can't sing for her life, she can't act, she dances like 50 years old soccer mom, the only thing she can offer is Max Martin's music(which is bad since 2011) and sex(and she is already 30-something and considered old by the GP), Katy trully is over.

Not to mention that Gaga's fall from grace wasn't that drastic and fast. Gaga was already criticised during BTW, while Katy comes from a realy successful era, but still flops harder than even Britney(Katy sold 186k with the ticket bundle, without the budle she would've sold less than 100k and Glory sold 111k). + ARTPOP didn't flop as hard as Witness, Katy's sales are tragic and her streaming numbers are even more tragic.

Ok. Im just gonna say "Time, the ultimate truth teller". Anything could happen, I don't think Katy is over.

English isn’t my first language, so please excuse any mistakes

Calling Katy a try hard about getting a Hit number 1 when the whole article is about her not succeding at getting a number 1 from Witness is a non sense. If everyone bash her of course she will do everything to try to have a hit.

Witness is very well produced. I like it a lot. I agree about the missing smash choruses, but at leat she's doing what everyone wanted her to do : something different and more ''dark''.

And yet in the end of the day, its still a very very good album. One of the best in 16/17

Ps. And this damn Katy doesnt have talent or even Gaga is the only talented artist....its starting to irk me quite a bit. Its hugely insulting to many many far more talented ppl. If you think one is talented, doesnt mean another isnt.

Another one in the basket...

It's my favourite album this year and i easily prefer it to Prism. I needed some light-hearted pop and Katy gave that to me. Flop or not it doesnt change my opinion really.

The media will jump on any bandwagon really.

The hardest thing in this world is to live in it

Is it me or does it seem to everybody that the word "flop" has somehow undeservedly migrated from the stan forums into the world of entertainment press? I can't treat a magazine seriously when they use "flop" in the stan way, it feels somewhat immature and unprofessional.

I didn't like the article. There is no other explanation for the record's underperformance other than the fact that the audience is either unaware of its existence or the fact that they for some reason don't enjoy music to an extent that would prompt them to buy the record.

Personally, I just think that Katy took too long a break between Prism and Wtiness. It's either she or her producers lost touch with the top 40 reality and their attempts to have some "fresh" sound didn't work out well. People would have never cared about Taylor Swift feud had the music been good for them.

Also, the author of the article did a Joanne remark:

"For comparison, Lady Gaga's Joanne also debuted at number one last year, but didn't make much of a cultural dent outside of circles that weren't predisposed to love all things Gaga."

:excuseu:

LMAO is she mental or what :saladga: Does she really think that her ARTPOP audience was into Gaga going indie and delivering "husky and wounded voice" with no infectious glittery bops on Joanne? The delusion :staymad: I am not arguing about cultural dent of Joanne, but the album survived this long on Billboard 200 (currently at 161, buy it on iTunes / stream the tracks on Spotify!) exactly thanks to the fact that it reached the audience broader than her typical fans. It was not the gays who kept sending Million Reasons to the top of iTunes so many times, they have long been mourning the record and Gaga's pop limelight when MR started tanking on the radio for the first time.

I can't with this love for Prism. that album is pure crap. It only exists because of Roar and Dark Horse.
