I'm so sad that my state is doing this. They waited for someone like Trump to get into office to pass all of this.

Hey fellow Texan!:lana:

Yea, Greg Abbott is largely a byproduct of the Tea Party movement of the late 2000s, so none of this is surprising. You really want to be mortified? Look into the impact Texas has on the minds of students all across this nation. Throughout the 2000s, the Texas Board of Education tried (and arguably succeeded) in promoting verbage that could promote the teaching of creationism in school science classes. Since Texas buys more textbooks than nearly any other state (California), publishers begin to print textbooks according to standards by which the Texas Board of Education will approve. Then, the same books are bought by ISDs throughout the entire country. Yay :awkney:

I could go on for days about Abbott.... :fthis:

I hate living in Texas and having to see Greg Abbott he's such a disgusting human being. there's absolutely no shame felt by the emotional shame and trauma he, and past texan leaders to be honest its not just him, have caused on lgbt youth, yet alone just anybody different from the typical.

Edit: Also, the bill that could allow doctors to lie to women about the state of their fetus so they wouldn't want or feel the need to get an abortion is just awful. For instance, lets say the baby is going to be born with a number of sicknesses and possibly a mental illness and they would never be able to enjoy life, why would you put someone through that. Also the same applies for mothers who can't possibly take care of the child. And lastly, the mom could die from birth complications. A whole bunch of men who literally have no reason to care for the lives of women and children because they don't care about anything but themselves should have no say in their rights. sorry for the rant. I dont even know if the bill was mentioned here i just wanted to talk about it while we're on the topic of texas being horrible.

Whispering

Where those people at that were yelling about "not caring about ****ing wedding cakes" and "gay marriage is here to stay" just this past week? :usrs:

This just goes to show you that there are rights they can take away from you...rights that matter just as much to people as marriage equality and way more than who is making a wedding cake!
