Yes, it's fan friendly...but it still is inflated numbers on debut week. They are accurate, but they are still not comparable to those artists who didn't offer their CD for free with a concert ticket. The Samsung promotion was a mess. Rihanna went on to sell well, though, didn't she? Take off the 99 cent BTW albums! What are you left with? 750K albums sold in the US debut week and a smashing success worldwide. The 99 cent deal inflated numbers, but BTW was still a power selling album aside from the deal. Oh...and Amazon offers that 3.99 download deal with almost all big name artists at some point. It never amounts more to a few thousand copies. It didn't elevate Joanne's numbers anywhere remotely close to the way these tour bundles inflate first week numbers for artists that use them.
