Mariah to debut Pride-themed Merchandise

Singer, Songwriter and elusive Chanteuse Mariah Carey is set to debut pride themed Merchandise in just about an hour. The 'Heartbreaker'-Singer took to Twitter on June 10th and tweeted:

On the website it says:" A portion of proceeds will be donated to GLAAD. GLAAD rewrites the script for LGBTQ acceptance. As a dynamic media force, GLAAD tackles tough issues to shape the narrative and provoke dialogue that leads to cultural change." 

Mariah also teased the Website with bunch of throwbacks from the 'Rainbow'-Era.

What a sad, hateful, ignorant way of thinking. 

She doesn't need to be a part of the community. She has been a gay icon for years. Millions of her fans are gay, and cite her as a source of inspiration. In the 90s and early 2000s there weren't many big gay icons, but Mariah was one of them. Maybe not as vocal as say Madonna, but her music has still inspired many.

Being an ally is more than enough. Its not her fault that she isn't LGBTQ, she was born that way. She wants to do something to support her LGBTQ+ fans. How do you know she's profiting? It says a portion of the proceeds are being donated. Maybe the rest of the money is being used to pay the factories, designers, and those who are promoting the range? All of that doesn't come for free. Something has to be invested to make profit. Do you personally know that Mariah is getting some of the sales to keep? 

Do your research before you start making a fuss online. How do you know what she has or hasn't donated. Stop making assumptions.

That being said, personally, this doesn't bother me so much. I'm really so numb to capitalism and people profiting off of the LGBT community. At least she's an ally and I dont have reason to see this as malicious.

Mariah has done SO much charity in her life. She donates a lot of money to foundations supporting lgbt people, hiv and aids and children who live in ghettos and helps them to find a way into a better future (camp mariah).

mariah spoke out about gay ppl and gay marriage years ago when it isn't a popular thing to do, as her target audience isn't the same as cher,gaga or madonna. 

Mariah has often been very vocal about how it was the lgbt community who saw the real her and she's thankful for that.

for me as an lgbt member i am so happy to hear her music as it helped me becoming the person i am today. and that enough makes her an lgbt icon for me

Mariah has been around for decades longer than Gaga. I don't understand why you'rw assuming she has done nothing for your community.

Another thing is Gaga openly stated that she is NOT lgbt. At her speech at the pulse memorial, she said she is an ally and not a member. Have your views about Gaga changed?

The f*ck's your problem? She wants to celebrate pride month and is doing something nice for the community. She's been an LGBTQ+ icon too. So, if she was bisexual or lesbian or anything else but straight, you'd be like "yeah, that's cool"?

i apologize then, didn't know she had done all of this. i still think selling pride merch when you're not lgbt is taky though.
