Thousands and thousands of people are willing to pay 300+ for Adele. That's not even a lot of money for a ticket anymore. Face value tickets for her show went through the 100s, being sold as VIP packages. A medicore floor ticket could set you back 700+. And on resale sites people were spending over 1k just to get in the door. Her live vocals actually are really good, there's absolutely no lip synching, so if you're into a live musical performance that's what you get. Some people don't want to see a theatrical show with dancing and costume changes, that's not what music is all about. You're also incorrect to say she "just stands there" because that isn't true at all. On her last tour she had a mainstage and bstage which she used to interact with the entire crowd. She also had really cool visuals, including an indoor waterfall. She's hilarious and has funny banter throughout the show, and even brings the audience onstage at parts. Its down to personal opinion. If you don't want to see her show, don't know. But asking "who on Earth is willing to pay that?" is kind of crazy considering her tour was a worldwide sellout. Kermit 15,807
SHE DOESN'T EVEN CHOREO WTF “For me, insanity is super sanity. The normal is psychotic. Normal means lack of imagination, lack of creativity.” ― Jean Dubuffet

I am the #1 fan of big flashy pop concerts, but that doesn't mean everyone is. Some people just want amazing music, and a great seat. I got a seat 10 rows back from her mainstage for 100 GBP, and 3 rows from her bstage for 100 USD. I feel like this list must include resale or VIP packages. Obviously a VIP ticket that includes merch, parking, special entrance with no lines, dinner, drinks, and a front row seat is going to cost 100s of dollars, even 1k+ to see the biggest female artist of the time? It comes down to taste. Some people would want to spend a lot to watch Beyoncé partially lip synch a show to dance music with her troop of dancers and costume changes being the main focus. Other people would prefer to see Adele, laugh to her banter, listen to her music. Neither are right or wrong. Adele was just more popular, playing smaller venues, and this was her first big tour ever.
Emvee 8,473
I used to justify paying that much to see a pop star perform because pop stars have big budget shows that require a lot of backstage people to set up and make sure the performance goes smoothly. Adele's concerts are not big budget shows, though. I guess those high prices are all hype for her "great voice" and her tour handlers knowing they can make more profit. I think Adele's shows are usually smaller too?

Whispering 18,865
This thread. First of all, they are including the Secondary Market! Read the first paragraph, at least! Secondly, Adele doesn't just "stand on a black stage", "singing off key", "singing sad songs" or in a "small venue". GGD is obviously not a very good representation of what the majority of music listeners look for and want to pay for when going to concerts. There are many people who don't need choreography to be entertained. Adele put on a great show! I bought my tickets from Ticketmaster and didn't pay close to the price in the article...and it was worth every penny! The entire floor section and lower bowl stayed standing through the two hour show. ( except for a 3 song acoustic set) I would pay the same price to go see her again tomorrow!
