One side of the building appeared to be in flames, and 45 fire engines and 200 firefighters were called to the scene. The London Fire Brigade tweeted that the fire involved the second to the top floor of the 27-story building. The building is the Grenfell Tower in the North Kensington area. The cause of the fire is not known. The Metropolitan Police said two people were being treated at the scene for smoke inhalation and cordons were in place. There has been no immediate word on whether anyone was still inside the building, but The Guardian reported that it appears—judging from the eyewitness accounts—there were likely people inside. It is our conviction that a serious fire in a tower block or similar high density residential property is the most likely reason that those who wield power at the KCTMO will be found out and brought to justice! The Grenfell Action Group believe that the KCTMO narrowly averted a major fire disaster at Grenfell Tower in 2013 when residents experienced a period of terrifying power surges that were subsequently found to have been caused by faulty wiring. People from neighbouring estates are huddled outside in their pyjamas near the flaming building, some shouting “put your head out the window” or calling the man with the blanket to shout his flat numbers so they can guide the fire services to him.
