Katy owned the pop music scene a few years ago One possible reason is the "controversial" lyrics and the video. It's the first thing the public see after 3 years or so. It wasn't nice. I mean, after so many years with black hair... And when it also reminded of Bieber, Pink and Miley I at least didn't like it to start with. Edit3: I was thinking about Beyoncé some days ago. The success of Crazy in love was idk 10 years ago or something? with Jay-Z. And Drunk In Love with Jay-Z was kinda somehow the same only 10 years after and it had so much success. Beyoncé has cracked the code for longevity. I wish Gaga cracks it some day.
