At the end of the day, she's still scoring a number one, which is what most people will remember. I doubt anyone other than die-hard fans know the sales of Like A Virgin or Bedtime Stories.

I know the sales of those albums :poot:

Hint: They are higher than 180k:ladyhaha:

OT: Thats sad tho. I bought the album and I enjoy most of it.

funnily enough, I am only glad this is happening because Madonna fans will be terribly disappointed

There's no need to spread negativity or troll other fanbases. That's childish. It's just a flop Katy has more millions than our lives combined so why worry about her or any other artist.:laughga:

What will happen to Katy tho, Gaga had tony and cheek to cheek plus all her live performances during 2015/2016 and AHS  to help her get the GP's attention and respect back. It's not like Katy can do any of that :duck:

American Idol :flop:

Honestly, Gaga's very lucky. Pulling off an image overhaul and changing public perception isn't easy. She really, really had to work for it. Several huge performances dedicated to showcasing her huge talent, a jazz album with a legend, an entirely stripped back era... In the least asshole-ish way possible, I don't think Katy can course correct herself to the degree Gaga has. I kinda see her going the Xtina route, with Idol and all coming up.

Yes.  I wouldn't use the word "lucky", tho.  Gaga pulled it off with talent outide the pop arena.  Not sure if Katy is that multi-dimentional.  Will be interesting to see what she does next.

This makes me sad. Like at what point did people Turn against Katy like they did with Gaga?? Katy owned the pop music scene a few years ago

One possible reason is the "controversial" lyrics and the video. It's the first thing the public see after 3 years or so. Maybe it was a turn off for the general public. Idk what reason, but I think it maybe had some unexpected negative effect on Katy Perry as brand.

Edit: Also her new look could have an effect. It wasn't nice. I mean, after so many years with black hair... And when it also reminded of Bieber, Pink and Miley I at least didn't like it to start with. Felt like she was only copying, not creating something interesting.

Edit2: Not hating on her, just making theories about what could have happened. It is odd. Maybe even her age... idk.

Edit3: I was thinking about Beyoncé some days ago. The success of Crazy in love was idk 10 years ago or something? with Jay-Z. And Drunk In Love with Jay-Z was kinda somehow the same only 10 years after and it had so much success. Beyoncé has cracked the code for longevity. I wish Gaga cracks it some day.

No one remembers chart positions...

It's so silly that people here think that

No one but hardcore stans. When I used to stan Madonna years ago, I followed sales and chart positions meticulously, but it finally got to the point where it was more exhausting than interesting.

Yeah, Gaga's talent helped her but I wouldn't count luck out of the equation. There's many talented people out there who probably wouldn't have the good timing, opportunities or connections to make what Gaga did happen.

Rabbit Heart

It might be even lower since it keeps falling on US Itunes it's #4 now, barely stood at #1 for a day and a half or two days.

Pop girls are not as popular as they were back in this  days, times are different today, music sounds different and they feel lost because what they use to sell doesn't sell anymore :/
