She didn't start any of those, though. The Chainsmokers were assholes and she didn't take it lying down, I don't think she meant any rudeness towards Madonna there, but she did not speak as eloquently as she could have there. She was trying to explain why she's different than Madonna (which is fair because she's been asked about this forever) and she gave the honest answer, but it just sounded a little rude. The Katy one was probably just frustration with people always jocking her **** after she goes through the ringer as the weirdo for doing the same thing. She was in a weird place so I cut her some slack. She doesn't really try to start anything, but she'll sure as hell finish it (Chainsmokers, Die Antwoord, the assistant suing her and her testimony, etc.)

She can shade whoever she wants but don't say she avoids fan wars.

But she does...just because you make gaffes here and there that may instigate something doesn't mean you're going out looking to start fights. Sometimes people just say ****, but I'd wager a hard 90% of the time they aren't looking for it to turn into a full out fight. I honestly can't think of a time when she specifically intentionally came for someone first in a manner that would make a fan war. If she defends herself, I hardly put that on her for making the beef, and if she misspeaks something, I think it's obvious her intention isn't to stir ****. Idk, it just doesn't seem to me like something most people are out to do but that by nature of being a celebrity (and an enormous celebrity at that) that sometimes the things you say or reactions you have have different consequences than nonfamous people's do. Like, you can't just have a chat with someone and express being peeved about something. That chat is an interview, is globally published and archived forever. Now the person you're talking about sees what you said and is mad at you. We all get pissed over legitimate or petty things but I feel like as a celebrity it's harder to have those feelings because you're watched more. Look at how much people read into Gaga not giving Katy Perry a shout out on Twitter. If normal people don't talk about someone no one pays any mind. If a celebrity doesn't then they must hate said person and they have a beef.

I'm not saying she hasn't started any fan wars or perpetuated them because she has, but I'm just trying to say that I don't think she makes a strong concerted effort to do so. It seems very out of character for her to do so. She's headstrong and seems to say things before she has a second to think about it sometimes.

babyboo

I can see it even without her having to clarify that tbh. Can only imagine how tiring it must be for these artists to constantly hear either over the top "yaaas" and worshiping or hurtful shade just bc they're considered competitor of a certain artist:madge:

That's a lie. Chainsmokers drama 2016, shading Madonna 2016,  shading Katy 2013. And many more I'm forgetting right now.

Lol I said she avoids starting them (unnecessarily). She still stands up for herself from time to time though of course :P

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
