Petition to add black & brown to LGBT flag

Trans people got their own flag so if a certain group doesn't feel represented then make another flag okiieeeeeeeeeee thank you

Well, actually,  it is somewhat ridiculous, the colors dont represent people's skin... I havent seen any green or purple person ever.... The meanung they try to put is really wrong, it is not about the color, it is about what it means the whole flag

No, that ruins the purpose of the flag. The flag is all inclusive in the LGBT community. THis would be saying LGBT and black people too! That's rediculous, and most LGBT are very inclusive to all races. So please stop.

Pink has since since been removed from the flag and turquise and indigo were replaced with blue, but as you can see the colors do not even stand for race.  

As I have said many times, I don't have an opinion on what the flag should be, and I am not advocating for changing it. What I am advocating for is that the LGBT community embrace intersectionality and for discussion about things that affect all marginalized groups. 

I did not accuse you of reverse racism... Did you read what I said? I said that reverse racism is not a thing and that when you say things like "why is there no white stripe" it perpetuates the false idea that whites are an oppressed and marginalized group that should have recognition as such. I did not know your race and didn't need to know your race to make that point. Your color does not preclude you from making statements that are detrimental to progress. I never said only white people are asking about the white stripe.

Thanks for your explanation of the rainbow flag. We all know it already for the most part. What the group in question is doing is trying to add a new level of meaning alongside the current meaning, not negate the current meaning. It was largely black people who created the LGBT movement in the US, but their stories have been erased from our history. That is part of the reason for the proposal. The other reason is to show intersectional support to communities of color when they are facing intense scrutiny in this country (and around the world) right now. I personally don't see anything wrong with showing this support, but I don't think the flag necessarily needs to be changed to do it.

BLM is a loosely organized group and you can't assume their worst examples are speaking for the entire movement. At its core, BLM is about a VERY REAL inequality that exists. It's about police brutality, it's about systemic poverty, it's about profiling, it's about the fact that black people are assaulted and killed for doing the same things white people are not assaulted and killed for, etc.

Please don't suggest to people that they shouldn't protest against these very real things.
