Is there a way to non-permanently dye my hair partially blonde for the JWT?

My parents are super conservative (I'm not at all) but I'm afraid of committing to new hair. I wanna have blonde bangs for the JWT, and my hair is dark brown. (Clearly brown tho, not so dark that it looks black.) is there a way that I can make my bangs blonde for the show and then get rid of the color in a couple of days without cutting my hair? :excited2:

I do hair for a living. There is no way for your hair to be blonde without lightening it. Your best option may be clip in extentions and have them cut to your length of hair and place them in your bang area. That way you can add them and remove them as desired!! :)

Hello, I'm a hairdresser :)

Well it's not quiiite that easy. Depends on a few factors as to how blonde you want to get. No matter what, if you want to go blonde you have to bleach your hair. Which will make it yellow, so you have to tone it as well.

Also,  If you have natural hair, it will get blonde really fast. If you have layers of supermarket dye in there, it could be a process that takes 3 visits to the salon and costs you hundreds.

Then when you want to go brown again, the hairdressers will have to do a two step colour process to get you dark again, or it will go green or ginger.

And please, please, do not try and use supermarket bleach and dye yourself. You will end up with fried yellow hair, and then turn it green or ginger trying to get it brown again. There is a lot of science and know-how behind doing it right, which is why I have a job lol.

Either way it will cost you hundreds, so it's not worth it unless you want to just go blonde and commit to that new colour.

A nice wig will cost you less and look amazing! Try Etsy :)

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

Hi! Are there natural ways to lighten up even more my light brown with bits of blonde hair? I know about chamomile, but are there more? A better way to use chamomile? :)

I'm going to say no. My hair is naturally brown, and getting/keeping my hair blonde takes a lot of time and money. It will also most likely be orange if you don't go to a professional. It doesn't seem to be worth the stress and hair damage for only a few days.

They do sell clip in bangs though! I would definitely look online.

I don't really know a lot about natural products, but I've heard lemon juice and sitting in the sun can lighten. Not sure what the results would be lol, and it would only work on natural hair not hair that you have dyed.

No but it's a blessing in disguise, that look doesn't look good on anyone imo :ladyhaha:

Bleach it, then dye it brown after lol

I don't think any lightening is temporary, bc you're stripping the color vs. adding color

maybe try and find a comb-in yellow/white paint? Which would wash out first shower after, but idk how cute it would look lol

Get something like this:

https://www.etsy.com/nz/listing/240758923/long-17-inch-straight-blonde-heat?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=blonde bangs wig&ref=sr_gallery_3

It would actually be cheaper than bleaching and colouring your hair, and look nice for the one night. And it'd be re-useable for other events! If it's too shiny, you can comb a tiny amount of talcum powder through.

@Nick Gervasi there are many new suggestions in this thread, in case you didn't notice :)

You could get one of those colored hair sprays/powders, but sometimes they don't last longer than a few hours.

Try hair chalk, or hair color spray. There's no way around lightening unless u color it back afterwards, but even then it'll wash out cause ur hair is stripped from pigmentation and won't hold the color very well.

I'm already naturally blonde, but to lighten it I sometimes put lemon essential oil on my hair when I know I'll be in the sun. Make sure not to get it too deep into your hair or on your scalp because it can make your skin more prone to sunburns and sun damage (it's photosensitive/phototoxic).

Cold as ice cream, but still as sweet.
