bumblebee 2,528
Watch out for Theresa May to come out as a winner out of the situation which so many are describing as an upset for her party. If the elections were to take place in 2020, as scheduled, she probably would lose the government to Labour party anyway. It's the peculiarity of the British election cycle. Labour were in power from 1997 to 2010, then Tories were supposed to lead the country for about ten years as well. There were great chances that Labour would take the government back in 2020 and she would have to step down. Now if she joins forces with DUP, she will stay in charge of the government up to 2022. She basically has extended the Tories leadership for the time when the important Brexit talks will take place. A sneaky sausage.

May will look to the DUP for their support but it wouldnt be a coallition. I doubt it anyway. Either way considering the smear campaign against Corbyn for his links to NI terrorists it is funny how Torys are looking to the DUP for help. DUP are probably one of the most right wing parties, opposed same sex marriage, climate change etc. Mess. I'm American and reading a ton on this tonight because before this I didn't even understand how parliaments work lol. But it looks like the DUP is just going to keep the tories in power but not necessarily vote for their legislation. Which seems fine to me. It's not like the DUP has any power. They are just preventing the labour party from forming a majority coalition. Call your therapist...it's Petie Estie

While they've have boosted torie seats they don't have the power to implement their disgusting anti-LGBt agenda etc etc. They are of benefit in that they too were pro Brexit and therefore this aligns with the results of the referendum DIRTY PONY I CANT WAIT TO HOSE YOU DOWN

I was gonna get into it but after reading a couple articles the tax rates are way complicated. But it looks like it wouldn't be a huuuuge increase for you since I'm seeing like 40% tax on mid income earners lol Call your therapist...it's Petie Estie

We do have a lot of services for free/cheap because of those taxes though. A tax increase of potentially 12% is a fair amount. Especially living in central London and owning property the 52% tax from labour effects the top 2% of the country so those earning £300,000 or more DIRTY PONY I CANT WAIT TO HOSE YOU DOWN

But when voting for laws or bills or whatever the tories would have a minority government and just have to find votes and not count on the DUP. Is that not the same as a minority government idk if I understand that term. Call your therapist...it's Petie Estie
