Lona Delery 7,214
literally none of the songs were good. CTTR as lead & BA as 2nd single now make so much more sense, considering they are the best songs from the album, but they're still not good. I didn't have the urge to listen to any song again, not one of them is more than a 5/10 imo Sometimes it feels like I've got a war in my mind, I wanna get off but I keep riding the ride

Fernster7 7,922
I love Witness the most, it is the best song on the album in my opinion. Hey Hey Hey starts great but as soon as the chorus starts it becomes messy and annoying. Roulette is okay I guess, nothing special. Swish Swish: It's a great fun bop and I enjoy it for what it is. My favorite single. Deja Vu: The melody of this track annoys me but I like the production. Power: I was extremely excited for this song and i was so disappointed, it sounds unfinished and like a demo, part of the instrumental just are unpleasant. Mind Maze: Cute. Miss You More: It's a lovely song but the lyrics to the chorus are lazy af. Chained To The Rhythm: Good song. Tsunami: Cute slow bop, I liked it. Bon Appetit: tragic! Bigger Than Me: It's really good, like really really good but not on Witness level. Save As Draft: I like the lyrics and it's very relatable. Pendulum: It's forgettable. Into Me You See: Worst ballad on the album by far. Overall it's an okay album with some good songs but not on the same level as her previous efforts. I am worried about the singles tho. Is my album Hitless? Monsters never die.

IHE 563
Witness: Love the production. Melody not so much. Hey x3: Garbage. You aren't 19 Katy. Roulette: Dig it. Again really great production. Swish Swish: No. Juvenile. Awful. Deja Vu: Filler but some lovely melodies. Power: I like it but better suited to a powerhouse vocalist. I could here Xtina nailing this. Katy struggles. Mind Maze: This weird **** is not top 40 and I really liked it. Miss You More: Solid slow song with relatable chorus. CTTR: Pandering trash Tsunami: Loved the melodies and production. Bon Appetit: Please no. Why. Bigger Than Me: Actually really liked it. Only purposeful pop on here. Save As Draft: Lovely Pendulum: I hated it. Doesn't fit on the album. Well done just not my cup of tea. Into Me You See: Favorite slow song. Really beautiful. Overall I personally found this album more satisfying than Prism. It's definitely not pandering to the gp. Go Katy but please adjust your personality accordingly. There's more than 4 songs I'll revisit and I do think she has evolved a bit though not in the most original ways. So much indie pop influence here, which I live for. Even a couple iamamwhoami moments though brief and production is tight af. Also booklet art is really gorgeous and weird. Favorite art of 2017 so far.

PI Floppedt 904
1. Witness (7/10) 2. Hey Hey Hey (6.5/10) 3. Roulette (6/10) 4. Swish Swish (8.5/10) 5. Deja Vu (6.5/10) 6. Power (7/10) 7. Mind Maze (8.5/10) 8. Miss You More (7.5/10) 9. Chained to the Rhythm (7.5/10) 10. Tsunami (7/10) 11. Bon Appetit (7/10) 12. Bigger Than Me (6.5/10) 13. Save As Draft (7.5/10) 14. Pendulum (8/10) 15. Into Me You See (6/10) Total: 107/150 | Percentage: 71.3% Notes: - Wtf at "Into me you see / Into me you see / Open Sesame"? - The songs have great sound, but their maximum potential is not realised because most of them lack a distinguishable climax - There's a lot about this album that bears some semblance to the pop music released in the past few months. Save As Draft sounds just like Angel Down in the first few seconds omg. - Mind Maze is the best song on the album. The style is everything. Purity Ring and Katy did that. I don't actually hate PI

Anderson123 38,293
I can't really say I'm disappointed because I'm not even a Katy Perry fan but at least with her previous records I felt like she had a couple of songs that were my guilty pleasure like ET, Dark Horse and The One That Got Away. The album is not bad and I actually appreciate that she doesn't have songs like Peacock, Last Friday Night, Birthday, This Is How We Do or even Roar and that's maybe because Dr. Luke is not part of the project or she wants to move on from the childish image that has been created about her and that's fine. I mean, everyone has listened to at least one Katy Perry song, she's been on the radio for years and she's good at what she does, which is create catchy songs. I've only listened to the album once from start to finish and I liked Tsunami because of the chill vibe. Right now I feel like the rest of the new tracks (especially the first half) sound the same and at least Hey Hey Hey is not as bad as I thought it''d be. I honestly thought it'd be like Avril Lavigne's Girlfriend or something like that. I also liked Dèjá Vu and Roulette. I listened to the album at the gym and was waiting to hear the "Mike Will Made It" or "Mustard on that beat yo" signature sounds because they did a great job on Rihanna (Needed Me, Nothing Is Promised, Pour It Up) but maybe Katy is still way too vanilla to pull these type of sounds. Anyway, the wait for it to leak was way more fun than the album itself. Not bad but at least she's moving on.
