Lucas 27,161
I only like Witness, Déja Vu (although the autotune during the chorus is annoying) and Chained To The Rythm, mess!

Some songs have great beats but nothing happens on the chorus and that's why she hasn't managed a hit I couldn't agree more with the lack of hooks. The production is great but there is something lacking in terms of recall value. Bonnie McKee and Dr. Luke were for sure the driving forces in making a Katy song a hit. Even though there are some bops on the album I doubt anything could be a big hit.

The good thing we could say about this era/album is that she is trying to get out of her comfort zone and is not playing safe like she usually did. nikola 4,342
I finished listening the album and i need to say that after i finisjed it inwas just left expectong more....every song is missing something ti make it good....like some song start good but become boring near the end........i feel like this album is half done......and slowed down.....i liked the few songs and thebres is ok but i forgot about them short after i finished listening them.....because they miss something Tbh only good way i see is katy's attempt to grow up....because she id late. I give this album 6 out of 10......maybe 6.5 if i feel good XDD Edit:also i feel like they added singles(cttr,ba,ss)after they have finished the album because they realised that there are no hit worthy song ob the album. I've got an "F" and a "C" and I got a "K" too And the only thing that is missing is a bitch like "U"

Fiona Apple 13,006
Just understood that Mind Maze is a great song The lyrics are the best in the album
Nirvana 2,713
There are about four tracks I would listen to again and think are the strongest one's on the album (Witness, Roulette, Tsunami and CTTR mostly). The instrumentals are nice, but there's a true lack of strong choruses and in some songs, a punch in certain parts of a song would make them so much better... Also the ballads are unfortunately from first listen very forgettable...
FRANK1991 3,329
about 3-4 worth listening the rest are too messy but who knows I had the same reaction for PRISM but now I enjoy it Cause once you let it go you better know it's gone
badboymonsterx 541
Ok I just streamed the album on Spotify. I don't like any of the songs! This is the first Katy Perry album I feel was a real let down. I always find something I like from her work. Too many slow songs imo. Forgettable lyrics and the beats are generic. Meh.
Antichrist 9,818
this is the first katy perry album i actually listened to in whole, basically stanning for her this era, the songs are 100% my type, never thought i'd be saying this
yASSsss 35,510
I tried my best to like this album but I just can't get into it. I appreciate Katy's efforts but this album feels rushed and lacks good melodies. My main issue with this album is the cringey lyrics. I only liked Witness and Roulette on my first listen definitely her worst album to date. 1.5/5 Call me by your name and I'll call you by mine
StrawberryBlond 14,881
Witness - 2/5. Not feeling the disco-type music and it's very predictable and forgettable. Hey Hey Hey - 2/5. The lyrics are kinda cringe and it feels like she's trying to prove too much. Roulette - 2/5. Forgettable and I only like the second verse and the chorus is just bland. Swish Swish - 1.5/5. A really weak comeback to Taylor, just childish and cringe. Deja Vu - 1.5/5. I've heard all this before and it's off-key singing, boring sounding-sounding. Power - 3.5/5. Like the instrumentals and the lyrics are very interesting, one of the best. Mind Maze - 2.5/5. Like the production and lyrics but the chorus with its urban autotune is bad. Miss You More - 2/5. A very maudlin ballad and the chorus is awful. Second verse is good, though. Chained to the Rhythm - 3/5. Ideal first single, good chorus, quite catchy and memorable. Tsunami - 2/5. So promising but the double entendres are cringe. Obvious sex song is obvious. Bon Appetit - 1/5. Flat singing, sexist, disgusting message framed as empowerment. *puke* Bigger Than Me - 1.5/5. Predictable ballad about politics, all been done before, most forgettable. Save As Draft - 1.5/5. Another maudlin, forgettable ballad. Do they ever end? Pendulum - 1.5/5. Really cringey dance number that would have been better suited on Prism. Into Me You See - 4/5. One of her best ever ballads, beautiful, affecting, real mature growth. Overall, I say it's 2/5. Which doesn't sound like much, but it's better than Prism, but only slightly. I think it's shocking how this is the best she can come up with after all this time. She lost her touch with writing good hit singles with Teenage Dream. So much of her new stuff is unforgettable and despite the fact that so many people rave about her ballads, I've always found them very wishy-washy and this album once again proves that she needs serious work on that front. She has elements that show some maturation here and there but it just feels like she's pretending to be adult now. I have no idea why Swish Swish and Bon Appetit are there as they don't fit with the rest of the album. So, my only theory is that she needed to put a couple of songs that sounded like hits on the album no matter what. But now they've both flopped, I don't know what she's going to do. I don't see any of these other songs being hits. She needs to take a step back after this album and get back to making the music that she truly loves and stop trying to be something she's not. This style just isn't her.
