Sounds like a bunch of electronic vomit to me. Not a fan. :saladga:

Overall it was kinda forgettable

I only like Witness, Deja Vu, Swish Swish, Chain to the Rhythm, and Roulette

Power so freaking annoying, can't listen to it the second time

Witness (8/10) - loved the demo was really hoping she went more with it but still pretty good!

Hey Hey Hey (7/10) - production is heavy, lyrics are a bit basic but love the emotional feel. Very heavy and hitting

Roulette (7.5/10) - cool song! Really was expecting a circle progression would've made the song really good (imo) but not a fan of the pre-chorus. Sounds like The Fame a bit!

Swish Swish (8/10) - A favorite! Love the opening and the 90s house feel! Nicki slayed of course

Deja Vu (9/10) - Another favorite from the album! Reminds of Legendary lovers and International Smile put together! The chorus could've delivered a lot more but the production is very good!

Power (8/10) -really good song! Slightly not a good balance between the production and her voice. Lyrics are good and the harmonic choices in the chorus is great as well!

Mind Maze (5/10) - wasn't a fan of this song simply because she used auto tune for "color" and it was jarring to my ear. However she captured the emotional aspect of the song well!

Miss You More (6/10) - tbh I would've done this song differently. Less production to fit her voice since she sang very light on the record. And the chorus could be without the drums but overall the lyrics were pretty good in the song

Chained To The Rhythm (9/10) - don't know why people hate this song. Production is very good, lyrics could be slightly tweaked but still good! Only major things I would say is a better chorus and the song could've done without skip tbh

Tsunami (9/10) - huge fan of the bass in this song! Song is very intimate and when she did it love it was very good! Her vocals were perfect with the song! LOVE THE BRIDGE!

Bon Appetit (8/10) - good song but could do without migos. Always loved the song

Bigger Than Me (5/10) - didn't like it tbh just sounded like a basic pop song. It really felt like a filler song for me

Save As Draft (7.5/10) - not too bad but the lyrics were a bit eh and my God did the opening remind me of Angel Down from Joanne

Pendulum (10/10!) - okay this might be the best song on the album. Everything is perfect! Nice complex harmonic options, lyrics are great, production is perfect, and the addition of the choir and horns really uplift the song! By far her best imo

Into Me You See (8/10) - the true ballad on the album it is great! Again, great harmonic complexity, but the lyrics could've been better

Overall: (7.5/10)

The album's production on most of the songs is great but could be toned down in some of them to project the emotion in her voice and lyrics. The lyrics are what you should expect in a pop album, not complex but really to the point of what she wants to say. overall she most definitely changed her total sound and seems to be more expiremental on this album but I think her approach to it could've been better. However her uplifting/dance songs are very good in the contrary. What I loved most from this album is the harmonic complexity she never displayed on her previous album which made me really happy as a music major lol. All in all, I will be listening to this album on repeat!

I guess I'm just missing her sugary sweet hooks and choruses. There's none of it in this album. And her slow ballad songs don't have the best lyrics. The instrumentals are pretty good and I do like Pendulum and Deja Vu though.

its just so soulless

which would have been cool if it had interesting production or memorable hooks to save it from monotony - but it doesn't

i don't think i enjoyed 1 song

After finally listening to the album I love it, my favorite album from her. This truly is her ARTPOP. I thought I'd never buy a Katy Perry album but I'd definitely consider Witness.  I will say it doesn't show off her vocals like Prism or Teenage Dream. She's pretty much singing in the same level in each song.

I can't believe some of y'all said it wasn't serving bops. I guess some of y'all aren't here for dark and funky synths.

From the snippets I was most excited for HHH, Deja Vu, Bigger Than Me, Roulette, and Act My Age. After listening to the album all of those served besides HHH (bon appetit, swish swish, and witness demo already were great to me).

I ended up liking all the tracks besides CTTR. while HHH is my least favorite of the tracks I liked.

Witness will be appreciated more over time.. much like ARTPOP (both of which are very incomparable to one another)

The Fame Monster

Déjà Vu is a nice song. But I think if you're running it on a loop too much, you will start to get annoyed.

And I like the production of Swish Swish but the lyrics are just too cringe-worthy.

neither of the three options, but it was good and a lot better than I expected, so voted the first option

chiuga

an album full of uninspiring and forgettable fillers and beats that were just put in just to make the songs sound cool and current.

vocals were atrocious and limited in style.

Honestly my second favourite Katy album after OOTB!

Love "Witness", "Hey Hey Hey", "Swish Swish", "Bigger than Me", "Save As Draft" and "Power".

TheWitness

Witness is a good album but not her best

I'm  nearly at the end now and I've noticed its biggest problem is that the hooks and choruses fall flat. Some songs have great beats but nothing happens on the chorus and that's why she hasn't managed a hit
