Muslim internment camps discussion on Fox News

The American broadcaster has distanced itself from Hopkins and called her remarks “reprehensible” after she said that the UK should introduce drastic measures to tackle terrorism and send individuals, who have not committed a crime but are on “a list” to “internment camps”.

Internment camps were used to arrest 1,981 Irish people between 1971 and 1975, who were believed to have links to the IRA, and the measure was used during the Holocaust and times of war.

Hopkins insisted the UK should open internment camps now for suspected terrorists, when former UKIP leader Nigel debated the special measure and said he wasn’t convinced it was the right approach.

The i reports that he said: “And if there is not action, the calls for internment will grow. We have 3,000 people on sort of a known terrorist list. And we’re watching their actions. But a further 20,000 people who are persons of interests, namely they’re linked by some way to extremist organisations. Unless we see the [government] getting tough, you will see public calls for those 3,000 to be arrested.”

Farage then added: “I’m not sure that that is the right approach, because the big danger with that is we might alienate decent, fair-minded Muslims in Britain.”

To which Hopkins disagreed and said: “We do need interment camps.”

Apologising for their comments later in the show, presenter Clayton Morris told viewers: “I think I made it well-known my feeling on that, which I find reprehensible, but on behalf of the network, I think all of us here find that idea reprehensible here at Fox News Channel. Just to be clear.”

Hopkins was forced to step down from her position at LBC last month when she tweeted that there should be a ‘final solution’ to the terrorist threat. The term was used by the Nazis to defend the Holocaust.

Before Gagadaily goes crazy:

If you google Katie Hopkins you'll find every answer you need. She's just a tv celebrity seeking attention, apparently big brother gig wasn't for her but she took inspiration from it in her search for relevancy.

Although it suddenly occurred to me that a tv celebrity is currently American President :firega:

She can continue to try and be relevant by spotting out bigoted views and backwards thinking if that's what she wants to do, too bad her paychecks are gonna start bouncing soon with all these jobs she's (going to be) losing
