Harry 26,836 Posted June 7, 2017 Share Posted June 7, 2017 Hey guys I need your help. I'm basically teaching a class of 14 y/os for a music technology-esque qualification atm and it started today. It's never been taught before at the school I work at so we have zero resources and I'm doing my best to build it up from nothing. It went really well today because I happened upon the full stems of Diamonds by Rihanna which included dry vocals so it was a great way to show them how professional songs are layered together, and specifically how the vocals are mixed in. I was wondering if any other audio fans here either a) knew of sites where stems are readily available or b) had any they could send me? It seemed effective for their learning to have a contemporary song that they knew and could pick apart and edit, so I'm looking for other popular songs. If possible, songs with as many real instruments as possible would be good as I'm going to get into techniques of recording instruments in a few weeks, too. This is a very specific request but my Google searches have been mostly pointless, so if anyone has any pointers it would be hugely appreciated! Swine (A lot of harmony tracks) Judas (Includes dry vox) Just Dance and Poker Face (Show how simple a hit song is) I've only got Gaga stems and they don't use many real instruments, mainly synths. I've come across some .mogg files (which I've never heard of before) when searching for multitracks that look vaguely promising.
