ok, I guess I'll take this up and do them (at least some now, some later :gaycat:)

all the scores/20 = score of the song, lower the score the better.

Dividing everything by 20 could work for now to evaluate a song's longevity, as songs that lasted longer than 20 weeks could be rewarded this way.

I'll take up some of them now :classy:

wait no, but if a song got kicked out say in it's 5th week for reaching 100? it wouldn't be fair ! I think we should divide by number of weeks it spent on the chart!

but then it falling out so early would punish it for not having longevity. There were #1 songs that didn't even make year-end lists just because they didn't stick around on the charts at all. We could do that too, of course, but with the #1 taking up a larger percentage it would also lower the score it gets if that makes sense.

exactly! longevity is an important thing in charting! I think we should play it in!

omg, I just realised what I said made no sense:toofunny: I'm not that good at math, for whatever reason I interpreted dividing by 20 as it will give the song a worse score :awkney: amount of weeks it spent it is

but the smaller the final score is the better right? so longevity does play a part here, I'll do my #1s right now

yeah, exactly. My brain isn't working :poot:

Maybe someone can interpret longevity by making a more complex formula, but I don't think this is a good idea. This formula will suffice I guess.

wait @SinnersVenus i don't get what "all the scores" means, we have to divide all the scores by the number of weeks, so what is it?

the position of a certain week. I should've said "all the weeks". I'm such a flop with this I'm sorry :toofunny:

good thing I put all the links to the chart runs or else it would've been annoying finding everything :poot:

We should divide the total points by the number of weeks and for longevity we can just reward a song taking out their two worst positions but still counting those weeks when we divide the scores.

Madonna - Rescue Me

1431 : 25 = 57.24

a lot of very low positions, only 2 top 10 weeks, one of them was #1. at least it charted for a long time!
