Emphasis on realistic btw :giggle:

we all want a box office smash and huge opening numbers and critical acclaim but what do we really think is gonna happen?

im predicting average to underwhelming commercial success and generally positive reviews, but no acclaim methinks :(

As far as the academy awards go, I can see her snatching a gong for original song depending on what the label want to advertise as the song of the movie.

In terms of ha acting I'm expecting relatively positive reviews but nothing worthy of Oscar recognition (although I hope to be proven wrong)

As far as the soundtrack goes, I'm expecting quality music and jaw dropping vocals. I know Gaga can deliver. I'm also expecting a Million Reasons style signature song that crosses over to some mainstream success which may boost the overall gross of the film in the end :golfclap:

what would y'all be happy with?

I would be happy if the movie will be a success but I think it will flop :poot:

It will flop of course but we are getting at least 8 new songs from it

I can't complain

Spoiler

The only thing to complain about is that out of all actors, she chooses to associate herself with Bradley Cooper? Seriously? That is so wrong. The guy has 0 talent and is aging like milk already. I have no idea what must be going through her head. But she always makes the wrong choices in men (Taylor Kinney, letting Ronson executive produce Joanne, being with Luc Carl for 6 full years) so it's not like I'm surprised.

I have no idea about critical reception...I loved her as the countess a lot, but many people criticized her and called her stiff, and then I'm like...what? She was fine. So who knows.

Box office scores that are in between  being great and craply. Just average, but I think the movie will recieve acclaim, and the soundtrack I'm expecting to be her most acclaimed album TBH.

Oscar for music, and if her performance is even half decent the oscars will be up her ass just to have a superstar in nominations.

I’m a simple guy to please, if you like Melodrama, we chill.

It'll be a cute movie but I doubt it would be groundbreaking. My best wishes with ha though.

This is a remake though and Im sure the audience who will watch this in theaters are little monsters and old people who want to compare it to the older versions.

Oh and Bradley Cooper fans.

I went to the filming and mentioned this when we were having dinner in my aunt's house and they all got into a discussion about ASIB. they know the story and are all excited about the remake even quizzing each other about random facts and celebrities who starred in Gaga's role.

(Im pretty sure they will say the old one is better though. They all respect Gaga and recognize her talent so i was not complaining much.)

Bio

Ok commercial success (it will pay for itself but it won't be huge) and mixed reviews.

I think I could make a better prediction once we see trailers and how they go about promoting it.

It'll do as well as remakes before it. Gaga is new to acting, her role as Elizabeth was stiff but that was how The Cpuntess was suppose to be, and Cooper is new to directing. Not to mention, they picked a film that had not the best of sucess and critial acclaim.
