Rihanna will be remembered in her own way but she is no Madonna. She might be able to crank out the hit singles (that everyone forgets soon after), and win over radio and streams, but she will never be what Madonna is. 

Madonna paved the way, set trends, was extremely controversial. Rihanna generally follows trends, struggled to sell out her last tour, and the most controversial it gets is her fashion choices. 

I love Rihanna, but she will never be what Madonna was. Especially Madonna's skyrocket to fame in just the first few years of her career.

They both cannot sing but at least Madonna is a good performer, something Rihanna will never manage to be. And Madonna is a songwriter, while Rihanna records whatever is thrown at her. One is an artist, the other not so much.

Talent isn't just limited to lyrical ability. She's got an ear for catchy music, she knows how to deliver hits, she sets trends in music and fashion, she's got that 'cool vibe'. She's managed to maintain her fame. All of that is talent. You can't give all the credit to her team. 

I feel the same with most big celebrities. Building and maintaining fame isn't easy or else everyone would have a #1 song and a net worth of 70m.
