Guys please read the article before jumping on the Madonna comparison bandwagon  It's based on a statement she made herself many years ago, saying that she wants to be the black Madonna and so Billboard are taking that statement and using it to see if she's fulfilled that goal  

It was a very interesting article and a great read  I wasn't aware of some of her humanitarian efforts but I'm glad to be enlightened about it now. I think what makes Rihanna so awesome is that she seems to just do whatever and not care about reception, there's an authenticity in what she does and I like her not-giving-a-**** attitude  She has dabbled in many styles and genres and though not everything she's done has been liked or successful, the fact that she's gone and done them counts for a lot and she's definitely not afraid to take risks which is very admirable

And people will still say having several #1s doesn't contribute to legend status LMAO. Rihanna was never known for cohesive bodies of work but after 11 years of having at least #1 for every era, she is retroactively seen as a musical genius.

this ignorant comment. Madonna dances better than Gaga. Madonna's vocals have been praised ever since Evita. She has her own Jazz-influenced album that has been praised for showing Madonna's versatility and range. Madonna is a nominee for Songwriters' Hall of Fame induction and has 7 Grammys. Be more respectful.

Rihanna on the other hand, while you are right that she can't sing well, has been improving (see Love on the Brain), and her singing style has been emulated by several other artists. For example, when Sia released that song with Guetta and Chandelier, many people thought it was Rihanna. Many hits are written for Rihanna.

This article is amazing. Rihanna (even though she does t write most of her music) is an extremely talented and hardworking woman who honeslty deserves more. She's the most bad ass artist out there, and I feel like even gaga gives more ****s than her. Rihanna absolutely does not feel manufactured. She just does stuff and it works. She is Madonna in the flesh and she deserves that. 

I mean 2016 for example, with Work she made tropical dancehall songs the only commercially viable ones out there. THATS IMPACT. She deserves this title more than Beyoncé being called the female Michael Jackson for sure! (And that's coming from the biggest BeyHive memeber on this site)

THIS! I'm glad you actually read the article. So many others seemed to have have been triggered and jumped just at the title BB gave. This is what really sucks about toxic stan culture...most won't even give this a chance because they've already decided they hate her or whatever. 

I agree about the humanitarian efforts...it's made me like and appreciate her even more...always loved the authenticity she's always put out there.

Aside from topping the charts (which Rihanna does better), Katy does not have the reinvention (Gaga, Beyonce and Rihanna do), the cultural impact and influence (Gaga, Beyonce and Rihanna do) the performance skills (Gaga and Beyonce do), nor the touring stats so far (Gaga and Beyonce do). Katy is far from being the next Madonna when all metrics are considered.
