I think these are one of the moments where their pretentiousness leaks more into the visuals (the LSD Dream simulator aesthetic) and out of their music. I just think it's different because this time the instrument usage is much more traditional band (AAW used more electronic / afropop influence, TTAY used orchestral influences), but that let's them make the weirdest, trashiest songs I've heard from them. Adeline is one of my instant favourites actually. It sounds like it could fit right into TIAY (which is probably why i loved it so much).
