gagaisitalian 3,573
What sucks is I'm sure when the girls read these lyrics they were horrified. I know they want to be doing so much more with their vocals but management is pushing this horrible same stuff on them. Still a bop though compared to everything on the radio. StrawberryBlond 15,061
Oh, this is atrocious. I'm certainly not "down" for "down" being used in a positive, sexy way like it is in a lot of urban songs now. It used to mean the same thing that "cool" meant in the phrase: "I'm cool with that," but now it seems to be the same as saying: "I'm in love with you." Halsey already did that recently with Now Or Never: "Baby, love me down, down, down, down, down, down." And I'm certainly not down with that, it doesn't make any sense in my mind. I'm not a fan of any slang term being used incorrectly or inappropriately. And Gucci Mane? He's one of the most disrespected rappers and I had no clue his solo sales were so bad. I also didn't know that he's 37. So, a man approaching his 40's is singing romantically to a bunch of girls who have just entered their 20's, with the youngest being just 19? *throws up* This is also where I found out that Dinah's the youngest. I totally thought she was the oldest, she looks more like mid-20s. I guess they can't find any other rapper who will take on the job, they can only get C-listers at best. I knew the song would probably be a rip-off of Work From Home, but not this bad. I also thought they'd showcase their vocals, but clearly not. 4 songwriters to write this extremely basic song with very little lyrics. And what's with the song length? Pop songs being less than 3 minutes long hasn't been a thing since the 60's! That 2 minutes and 45 seconds really bugs me. Their team could think of nothing, not even an extended instrumental, to add an extra 15 seconds onto this song to make it look halfway credible. No, they thought: "2:45? Nah, that'll do." The laziness is uncomprehensible. Here was me thinking that they might actually be a better group without Camila. As it is, while their overall vocals together may have got a bit better, the quality of their music has gone downhill. I mean, it was never awesome to begin with, but they've just got worse and worse. It's like, could they not find any good songwriters that would want to work for them because they don't think this group is working out anymore and there's no point? Let's not pretend that this group's days are numbered. They showed so much promise with their debut, but their follow-up was mediocre and that's where it all went to s**t. I've turned to amateur songwriting these days, just for my personal enjoyment. I'm actually thinking of making a song for them, even though they might not be together much longer. If Syco/Epic want to hit me up, I'd happily make some better material for these girls all by myself in one hour than these 4 songwriters could have written in several weeks. I also see that the song is failing on itunes. I hope this is the sign to Simon Cowell that this group is officially over and he can focus on making the far superior Little Mix into the worldwide stars they deserve to be and maybe getting that brilliant new BGT band, Miss Treats Vibe, off the ground.
