artpopulace 1,660
Left: Suspect carrying a baby armalite; Right: Resorts World Manila still under fire Friday morning Update: [June 2; 12:33PM Manila time] Update: [June 2;12:17PM, Manila time] 37 dead including the gunman [June 2, 10:51 a.m; Manila time] Thirty-four dead bodies were found inside Resorts World Manila in the Philippine capital's casino strip according to the local Bureau of Fire Protection, Police District chief confirms. He said the 34 bodies had no gunshot wounds, adding they either died from suffocation or stampede. Initial reports said four people suffered from smoke inhalation, but their current condition is still unclear. Philippine police chief added that out of the 54 who sustained minor injuries, 18 were confined in four hospitals in the area. An unaffiliated gunman has raided the casino last Thursday firing a baby armalite into the ceiling and other inanimate objects. The gunman had no intention of shooting people and stole casino chips worth P113 million. HE DID NOT SHOOT PEOPLE. However, the gunman opened fire on an LED television inside the casino, as well as the doors of the chips storage area. He later burned himself. The Philippine National Police suspects that the robber is deranged and under the influence of drugs. The Philippine government, under President Rodrigo Duterte, is in an ongoing drug war which has took thousands of lives, innocent or drug-related, in the whole country. ISIS claimed the attack but the Philippine police chief ruled out that it was a robbery, not a terror attack. US President Donald Trump incorrectly labeled the Manila robbery as a terrorist attack minutes before local police said it was suspected result of a robbery. The robbery came a week after a ISIS-pledging Maute Group has invaded the Southern Philippine city of Marawi. The Philippine army has already killed numerous members of the terror group, some of those are foreign members of ISIS. Duterte later referred the Marawi attack in a press conference today as "purely ISIS, not Maute." the milky way is 𝓵𝓲𝓫𝓮𝓻𝓪𝓽𝓲𝓷𝓰

Edonis 28,974
It's interesting to see how ISIS will claim attacks as their own when it turns out they had no physical hand in doing it. Maybe to appear more powerful overseas than they really are? Its a shame that so many people died May they Rest In Peace

Miel 15,009
It's always disheartening to hear news about this about my family's home islands. Also really tragic that the deaths were caused circumstantially out of panic, rather than the shooter himself. If there's any positive, at least it really wasn't an ISIS attack. 3 points in and ready for more
