Ms Hopkins was sacked after a tweet that called for a "final solution" to Islamic terrorism, which some suggested was a reference to the extermination of Jewish people by Hitler. LBC has not yet publicly linked the tweet to Ms Hopkins' firing, but the decision came after a concerted campaign, which included petitions and promises by high profile personalities not to appear on the station until she was removed. To suggest a 'Final Solution' knowing full well what it means actually turns my stomach and gives me shivers. She deserved to be fired for that comment, who in their right mind would suggest that? I think ya'll are reading too much into this. She deleted the tweet shortly afterwards so i highly doubt she knew the phrase has a connection to the Nazi context. While I understand it's not a term familiar to everyone, it's an odd term to use unless one knows its context. Regardless to whether the phrase was used with knowledge of its history, if one removes the history of the phrase it still does not read well... I find it hard to believe that Hopkins has no idea of the 'final solution'. She used those words with desire otherwise why not just a 'solution'? She knows what it means. she obviously did it to cause controversy like always but it backfired massively and that's why she removed it.
