I don't think LG6 will come until 2019 but The Cure could've been a tester or the need to drop something. Gaga and Bobby know what they're doing....

REALITY

I don't know, I'm sort of torn. On one hand, I think it's realistic for Gaga to perhaps explore this more rock/folk/country thing that she had with Joanne, but on the other hand, The Cure was defintiely a surprise to us, and even though there's not going to be an E.P. or album associated with it, I can definitely see her making an album that's indicative of that sound.

Tbh, I think that Interscope may want her to make an album like The Cure, considering how well it's doing—even without any promo whatsoever. I mean, on Kworb, it's 27 on iTunes and considering she hasn't done anything with it promo wise, it's do very well. From a business perspective, it'd be best to do something like The Cure for a future album, but hopefully Gaga will want to do that and she isn't forced to or anything like that.

Am I the only one who thinks she waits too long to tour? When JWT starts the album will have been out for almost a year. BTWB also didn't start until a year after the album was released so in 2013 when she was still touring the album would have been two years old. APB started 7 months after ARTPOP was released. The point of touring is to promote an album. Also to people saying LG6 won't come until 2020 that's 4 years between albums. I hate to say it but this is why GaGa isn't popular anymore. When she was at her peak she constantly had a song on the radio bc she released an album every year to two years. Look at the charts right now most of those artist release an album every two years, it's the only way to stay relevant. That and having more than two singles off an album. We waited 3 years for Joanne, if she would have stuck with what LG5 was originally before working with Mark Ronson it would have came out a lot sooner.

I hope you realize that a lot of her commercial failures is from her songs constantly being on the radio and the overall overexposure she experienced from 2011 onwards. That's really what led to the lukewarm start to the ARTPOP era and everything that happened onwards.

When it comes to touring I would agree that tours would promote an album normally in the past, but the music industry has changed greatly. Tours are no longer just to showcase an album, it's also the main way artists make money (since the majority of sales are done by streaming, etc.). In Gaga's case, she probably would've started the tour in the spring (February/March right after the Super Bowl) but she had ASIB filming and had to push it back until the summer. It's just the reality of things.

I do agree with you on album releases though. Her disappearances in the middle of album campaigns, and overall lack of promo does do some damage to her career (whether LMs care or not to admit it) but it's just how things are with her. Hopefully her album doesn't come in 2020 and the overall release cycle is executed in a more orchestrated way because it's been a mess for way too long now.
