I'm not rich or a member of the 'elite', nor are many of their voters. I don't trust Corbyn with brexit. Most of our leaders do want the best for our country. What I would call the conservative party is responsible. It's easy to stand there, like Corbyn and say FREE CAKE FOR EVERBODY, without at all considering the cost or consequences. But that isn't leadership, and is a recipe for disaster. I'm not here to cause huge argument, everyone is completely entitled to vote for who they want, that's what democracy is all about, people thinking about things for themselves and voting accordingly. Just thought I'd come out and represent a Conservative supporter and explain my reasons. I think it's justifiable if you wish to vote conservative, as long as people vote in general. However, I think it's easy to criticise the Labour manifesto yet the Conservative party haven't even costed theirs yet. It just seems like a little blind faith? Just thought I'd come out and represent a Conservative supporter and explain my reasons. The Labour manifesto is fully costed, the Tories have provided no costings. You won't trust Corbyn with brexit negotiations, but you will trust May who has proved herself time and time again to be a serial U-Turner and liar. His views aren't communist, his views are really quite simple. The NHS is in crisis, there is a wage crisis, education is crisis. Working people are having to rely on foodbanks. Further cuts to our public services is only going to worsen the issues. In order to reverse that, Corbyn's Labour government will invest in the public services. To pay for that he'll tax 5% of the country a little more money. The top earners. It really isn't communism, it's progressive. That's the simple idea, and it sounds good to me. There's a crisis in the country, why should the burden be on the shoulders of the poor?

You've obviously got other reasons but that one point I had to acknowledge I appreciate you criticising my arguments without resorting to hatred to disrespect, and you do, I admit, raise a fair point. I suppose I just want to emphasise, that contrary to the narrative that all tory voters are slimy evil elites that hate poor people etc, many of us are just normal people like you, with different thoughts on improving our country. Jeremy Corbyn does say a lot of things I completely agree with! But I fear he'd take it too far and i don't like this idea that anyone that works hard and challenges themselves to earn a decent living will be heavily punished to fund people who are able to sit around all day exploiting the system, which is what his policies will encourage. Thatcher had a vision for the country. It wasn't a vision I agree with by any means, but a vision nonetheless. May is a careerist, willing to change her game to advance her personal gain. This time last year she said the country would be better off to remain in the EU. When brexit happened she reinvented herself to a hard brexiteer in order to take leadership of her party. She's fought this whole campaign as "Theresa May" and not "The Conservatives". She wants a presidential election.
Slayer 9,227
May won't even debate other leaders on live TV. How on earth can she be trusted to negotiate a Brexit deal in Brussels? She is a puppet for the men controlling her. "Her" policies are going to cause irrevocable damage to our country and this promise of a hard Brexit could bring us to our knees. Unfortunately we're probably going to be stuck with this woman for another four years. I very much doubt Corbyn would win and even if he did, the Powers That Be would wrangle it so that May would stay in office. There's no way in hell they will let a socialist lefty get away with the policies he is proposing. There are too many rich influential white men in charge to let that happen. You know respecting the result of a democratic election and the will of the people is a quality of a good leader. At that time, parliament went quiet and every leader retreated. It take a great deal of courage for her to come forward and say she'll lead us into Brexit. I respect that. Yes she also U-tunred on the general election, what u gonna do, people change their minds sometimes. What's wrong with an election anyway, she's doing it to increase our negotiating power at the EU table, which is a pivotal event if we want success for the future of our country

With all due respect, I don't have any friends who would vote Tory on account of not wanting to be associated with people who would support such evil, selfish policies that only serve to benefit the elite. I think May will win regardless and I agree that it will be the result of a democratic vote. But hypothetically, IF Corbyn were to win, there would be some meddling behind the scenes to ensure the Tories stayed in power. I mean for Christ's sake, we are currently in the middle of a huge scandal with the investigation into Trump tampering with the election. How exactly is it an effective form of pest control when you're only getting rid of one fox per hunt? It's just an elitist sport for rich white people. And in my opinion it's a policy that's just meant to distract the public from more pressing issues and horrible policies that the Tories are trying to brush under the carpet.
