Real Love baby and Pure comedy - Father John Misty: they have sort of an indie vibe but still feel mainstream. In my opinion he's the male Lana. Highs: chateau lobby #4, holy ****, the memo, pure comedy

starboy - the weeknd: chances are you've already heard it but his voice is heavenly and he writes nice lyrics. Bonus: Lana does the backing vocals on some tracks. Highs: stargirl, secrets, die for you.

skin - flume: it's mostly experimenting with different sounds and most of the tracks are without singers. It's like being in a kind of trance when listening. Highs: never be like you, wall ****.

selfocracy - loic nottet: basically the male sia. The album has a clear storyline. Highs: mud blood, million eyes.

Troye Sivan -- Blue Neighborhood

If you want an electronic sounding album with substantial lyrics, look no further. His ability to capture the struggles of a homosexual guy living in the 21st century (love, religion, etc.) is quite substantial. Also, some of the instrumentation utilized is pretty interesting/unique.

Highlights: Talk Me Down, Lost Boy, Heaven (Truthfully, there isn't a bad track on the album)

Bruce Springsteen -- Born to Run

This classic rock album really is one of the best glimpses into the common man who lives in the 70s. The album is only 8 tracks long, and the songwriting is absolutely impeccable. This is the best representation as to why Springsteen is a legend and is a must-listen if you haven't yet.

Highlights: Born to Run, Jungleland, Thunder Road (Every track really is great. Can't recommend it enough)

Dolly Parton -- Little Sparrow

Classifying the genre of this 2001 album is a little difficult; it somehow a mixture of folk, bluegrass, and Celtic music. Another fantastic songwriter (I love great songwriters), she writes and sings with an authenticity like I had never heard before. Down from Dover and Mountain Angel are worth the price of admission alone. Fantastic album.

Highlights: Down from Dover, Little Sparrow, Mountain Angel

Mariah Carey -- Butterfly

I am the first to admit when an artist I don't particularly like releases a good body of work. This R&B album was made right after her divorce, and the sense of freedom showcased in this album is interesting. Skip the "fly away remix" (complete and utter filler track), and the rest of the album is solid if you are into 90s R&B.

Highlights: The Roof, My All, Breakdown

Fleetwood Mac -- Rumours

There is a reason why this album is certified 20x platinum in the United States - it's nearly a perfect body of work. Stevie Nicks' voice is mesmerizing, especially on the track Dreams. This classic rock album is so good that it ended up being my username. If you haven't heard it, I cannot suggest it enough. A sonically brilliant album to say the least.

Highlights: (I love this whole album, so I'll abstain from simply listing all the tracks lol)

Linda Ronstadt-- Heart Like a Wheel

There are very few people I enjoy that don't write their own music; Linda Ronstadt's voice is simply that good. If you want an album that epitomizes the upswing of California country rock in the mid 70s, this is it. Sonically, the album somehow manages to merge country and rock in an effortless way. Again, fully recommend.

Highlights: You're No Good, Faithless Love, You Can close Your Eyes

If you can't tell, I'm a pretty big music nerd. If you want any more album suggestions, I could list tons. Anyway, hope this helps!

I wanna expand my musical repertoire :lolly:

Just recommend me (and anyone who might be reading this) as many albums as you want down below.

Don't just name a random album or artist, add a small description of the music! For example, say Listen to ARTPOP, it's an EDM album with lots of infectious hooks and impeccable production instead of Buy ARTPOP.

Listen to 'Crush' by 2NE1 - it comes in two different formats, Korean or Japanese; but as well as having an infectious blend of English language, shows raw emotion amidst electronic beats and infectious pop sounds that'll leave you scrolling through the rest of their discography. Just give it a try.
