Album Concept: 'Black Dahlia'

A concept for Lady Gaga's sixth studio album is.. 'Black Dahlia'. 

Of course the album title is based on the infamous Elizabeth Short , AKA the Black Dahlia. (Shoutout to AHS fans)

The sound of the album would be something like the darkness of 'Born This Way' meets the rawness of 'Joanne', meets the glamour of 'The Fame' and it'd have very macabre undertones, yet it'd be theatrical like Lana's 'Born To Die'. It'd also be a very sad and tragic album- the title track would tell the story of the Black Dahlia, who tried so hard to become famous but it ended in her gruesome death.

Single #1: Masquarade 

A song about wearing a 'masquerade' mask to stay out of the public eye whilst remaining stylish; she misses her old life but loves the glamour.

Single #2: Peroxide Heart

A song to raise awareness of suicide; very similar to Princess Die but it'd be quite different. Also highlighting how she struggles with addiction.

The title track; based on the tragic story of Elizabeth Short. Also about the journey to fame.

I can imagine it being quite a dark album with about 4 ballads and some DITD type songs, it would be great to have the GP engaged with Gaga again I because it would be a kind of pop album.

Yeah that's precisely what I can imagine too.. maybe a few Dope-like tracks on there too, with the aesthetic of a more stripped down version of The Fame perfume short.

While thinking about this, for some reason I got a visual of a girl in in studded leather thigh high boots, a black short sequinned dress and wet black hair in the rain. The more I thought about it, I envisioned a video about a girl who is in an abusive relationship and resorts to drinking. She gets kicked out of her apartment and has to be a GoGo dancer (ties back to DH in. that way). Maybe for a piano ballad.
