Personally I don't feel like it's her "ARTPOP" era because the media isn't as harsh with her as they were with Gaga (not that I'm saying that I want that to happen). Also, it's still a little to early to judge "Witness" since the full album isn't out. Maybe it'll have a semi-successful or successful single in Katy's standards, who knows? *cough* she should just realease Witness as a single *cough*

Why this isn't Katy's ARTPOP era?

Because it's not, it's her Bionic era.

The music we have been getting so far I've thoroughly enjoyed to be honest. At first when people started comparing it to ARTPOP I was the same way and thought well to be an ARTPOP era the album has to have good music. After listening to the snippets and some of the songs already released I don't think it's at the level of ARTPOP since it is my favorite Gaga album but this music we've gotten is nowhere near bad in my opinion. I'm super excited for this era and that's coming from someone who hasn't been interested in Katy at all in the past.

This all of this

Yes, you can look at it that way but most of us are seeing it from purely a commercial perspective. The fact it's flopping and the reason behind why it's flopping are 2 different things. Liking or disliking something is subjective, so there's no way of calculating this kind of thing and what worth it has. When people talk about a _____ era, they're talking about its hit or flop result, nothing more. As we all know, succeeding doesn't automatically make you successful nor does flopping make you automatically bad, so there's not much point in bringing the subjective factor to the table.
