Sex indicates innate biological factors determining gender which is build on a list of 5 predetermined factors (google them) on the other hand gender represents a socially constructed idea of the 'Role' of the sexes. Aka what it is to be male (masculine etc etc) and female (femenine). Sadly these constructs are incredible restricting as there are many many people who simple don't fit those roles. In psychology it's called borderwork when someone works to maintain their gender normative roles but can't stick to it 100%. The idea of introducing a third 'gender' is a great idea.... it's fecilitates those that don't feel they fit within the constructs of simply male and female. The majority of people in the world possess both stereotypical masculine and feminine characteristics. It's good to see the people are becoming more forward thinking.
