because yeah absolutely the dads after going through the tragedy of losing a father in PR would molest their son on a public flight back to the US. listen to how you sound defending this.

How do these flight attendants know what they are flying for? Now you sound ridiculous.

dude omg seriously?? wow. gagadaily has definitely reached a new low in toxicity with your logic.

you think you are defending the flight attendats and the airline but really you come across as defending homophobia. i see other members have commented on that as well in the thread between you and the other that was also defending it. its gross, realize that you are coming across the wrong way.

Disgusting.

I understand that she 'had concerns' but perhaps take more than a passing glance to clarify if the concerns are rooted in reality of your preconceived notion that gay male father's molest their young male children.

How atrocious.

As a gay man, I want children, and I specifically want boys, for my own reasons which I challenge anyone to judge, and it frightens me that if I hug them too long or kiss them or show any affection it could be looked at as an act of sexual assault because people have this view on homosexual men as parents to male children.

It's disgusting. It's heart wrenching. I hope the reportee and the airline face insurmountable ramifications for this.

You don't put your hand near your 5 years crotch in public. It can easily be mistaken for something malicious. It doesn't matter that it wasn't malicious that's up to the authorities to decide. Our job is to report it. It's the life of an innocent child that's at stake.

It sort of feels like none of you have ever held a child in your life...if the child is 5 years old, they are certainly still young enough to be held at the crotch or thigh especially if they are sleeping in your lap and not buckled down. That is an age at which you are still required to have them in a car seat, which has a lock that goes over the torso from top to bottom in similar fashion.

To buckle a child into a car seat, you have to put your hand near their crotch. To hold them up while they sleep, you may need to do the same thing. If a mother was doing this, no one would have said a thing, and that you can't deny.

Most flight attendant s are gay (male ones). I know that is a generalization but I have also flown many times in the last couple of years so its my personal view. If it looked weird to a flight attendant (even a female one would have asked a gay one before reporting it). I might be on the side of United. We can't be afraid to report thing just because we would be labeled as homophobic or something else, if it seems wrong to us. The truth will come out eventually, but this is the safety of a child we are talking about.

How utterly stupid would you have to be to confuse molestation of a child with a child being held asleep?

We might as well just start reporting parents who hold their kids hands whilst walking down the street! My God.

I have my 5 and 3 year old niece on my lap all the time. My hands are nowhere near her crotch, ever. A 5 year old is already in a booster chair which uses the car safety belt, not a car seat.

What a stupid comment. Holding a kids crotch and holding a kids hand isn't the same thing. This is how people stop reporting real concerning situations by comments as STUPID as this.

Excuse me for placing more importance to the life of a child than people mistaking me for homophobic. Are you aware that most cases of molestation are from people the child knows or family members. Maybe if people would report concerns more often instead of trying to rationalize what they see, more children would be rescued. It doesn't matter if you are reporting someone who is man, woman gay, straight, bi, or trans. Let the authorities sort out guilt afterwards.

Look, I didn't want to @ you because I felt we would get into it and I cannot spare the WP but how close minded of you to view your ways of raising children as the absolute truth, and any other method to me viewed as 'potential molestation'. It's atrocious. No, I don't have kids, but I have young nieces and nephews, and a plethora of friends who have younger kids, who've I've dealt with and handled all, sometimes, hands do slip, kids are rambunctious, uncontrollable at times, and, sorry to say, my hand has indeed gone near their crotch given the circumstance. It was unintentional. And everyone around knew it because they weren't fondled, caressed, or anything of the sort. Sh!t happens. It's cannot be controlled. But you going around shooting down every attempt to make this look as vicious as it was make you look like someone who's not quite in touch with the reality of children, even given you have two you know.

Yes, certain things should be reported. This however, was not one of them and was completely rooted in homosexual fear and prejudice.

I'm appalled at your responses.

Most people molest children behind closed doors, never in public or plain view of others??!?! Yes, sporadically these things happen, but the norm is that these things are done in absolute private

I am not saying the child was molested... What part of that don't you understand. I am saying if it looks wrong reported and NOTHING else. The authorities will get to the bottom of it.

Wow stop being so God damn rude at every comment that doesn't mirror your own. In my first comment I sure did say if it looks one way take time to actively look to see if it's the way it appears. If that had happened, perhaps this whole thing could have been avoided?! Are you as dense as you're coming off??

THIS!

That flight attendent had no ****ing clue he was his son! She was only looking out for the child! Nothing about what happened indicates that discrimination was made because the couple are gay. She saw a 5 year old with a man who looks too old to be his father.

Any person who appears to be touching a child's genitals would have been reported. And nothing but the attendant's worry of the child's safety made her report what she saw, and now she's gonna get fired for it. It was a safety measure and no one was hurt.

But of course y'all are gonna see the headline and start jumping on the hate bandwagon.

You are absolutely right!

Next time I see a child I'm gonna call protective services cause who knows if it's really their kid.

I might be a hero! It's a 0.000000000000001% chance, but you can never be too careful!

Did you not read the story? The whole crew was in agreement.
