Islamaphobic White Male Kills 2 People In Train Attack In Portland

Two people were killed and another was injured in a stabbing on a MAX train at the Hollywood Transit Center in Northeast Portland.

The suspect, a white man, is in custody.

Multiple witnesses told KATU the suspect was hurling racial insults at two women, at least one of whom was wearing a hijab. Police wouldn't confirm their ages, but referred to them as "girls" and "young women." 

Sgt. Pete Simpson with Portland Police added the suspect appeared to be acting erratically, and wasn't necessarily focused on anti-Muslim insults during the attack.

Two men who came to the women's defense had their throats slashed by the suspect, Sgt. Simpson said.

"[The suspect] said, 'Get off the bus, and get out of the country because you don't pay taxes here,' [he said he] doesn't like Muslims, they're criminals," Evelin Hernandez said.

Police Sgt. Pete Simpson said that although the attack happened just hours before Ramadan began, police are not sure at this time if the attack was religiously motivated in any way.

Honestly why do people care so much about other people? Like so what if someone's Muslim, or from a different country, it doesn't affect you in any way so leave them alone.

I wanna hypothesize that white people are, in actuality, extremely jealous people.

In fact, I just reunited with my best friend of 11 years last week. We both came from a 3rd world country and made it here in the States. And we agreed on one thing: racism is a word formulated in the first world countries. Literally, we've never heard of such thing way back when. Same thing applies to bigotry.

This is probably one the saddest repercussions of terrorism. Bigoted racist islamophobic pigs find a reason and excuse to do horrific attacks like these on innocent muslim people or people who help muslim people...This just creates an alienation and divide that is not needed right now. NEVER use the attacks of some as ammunition to stereotype an entire race or religion etc...

No offence but that hypothesis is dumb, racism is far more wide-spread in the middle-east where not only is it more prevalent, but they actually still force people into slavery... And while I don't want to claim the US is completely slave free since I'm sure there is some residue in some obscure parts of it, it is illegal, highly penalised, and eclipsed by countries like Quatar with an estimated 2 million slaves... Quatar, that has a museum dedicated to slavery... built by slaves... So yeah, don't even compare the racism you have to deal with in the US...

I had a roommate from Myanmar and I actually really like him - he was very nice and cheered me on more than probably anyone else while I was being my usual mopey self... but he was racist as f***********ck... He absolutely HATED people from India... And from what I gathered people in that part of the world have the same relationship with one another - they think nations around them are greatly inferior, and the color of the skin is often used as a pretext. Like, they openly call black people 'slaves' there... 

I can also kinda attest to that myself because my parents are Russian and I went to Russian school - community I grew up in used and still uses the Russian equivalent of the n-word to refer to black people... And my parents are relatively learned, I still get such gems from my mom like 'it's true you know, white race is dying'... She legitimately thinks that Putin's war on homosexuality is an attempt to combat the extinction of white people (by forcing people to breed I guess?) and it's a noble thing...
