Gaga's silence

Doesn't it usually take her a few days after a death or incident to respond? I think she likes to take time to think about what to say, and I also think she waits so that all the other celebs have already tweeted, so she can get the most publicity out of it once she does comment.

I remember after the attacks in France, she didn't say anything and people complained too... Why is it so important ? Sending a tweet about how it's sad and devastating and not actually doing anything to change things afterwards is so shallow. And then you all laugh at the line "I confess I am lost in the age of the social".

All she does is try and spread love and peace around. It's something she does with every single action of hers. So we really shouldn't press on her to express grief because all she ever does is support everyone. And it doesn't come only after devastations.

I actually prefer that she is not saying anything. You don't need to tweet your ''prayers'' to show the world you care.  :reductive:

She wouldn't use this in any way for publicity.

These threads... I can't anymore.

when will we as a society stop judging people based off of social media??

If someone gave a million dollars to relief funds and said nothing vs someone who tweeted their thoughts and prayers... who would you choose as being more involved in solving the problem?

Probably because she doesn't want to shoot the gun? People have made fools out themselves because the feel the need to react to everything instantly.

If she mentions it, it won't be for publicity.  She doesn't use Sonja or Joanne for publicity either.  She really does care more about people than things.  Naming a song and album after Joanne was to honor Joanne, not to make money from her.

I have to say that the Gaga-hating Madonna loons have made a valid point:

Gaga usually waits for the other celebrities to do it first, so that she get more attention to her posts later, and then she writes an essay.

Sorry, but I have noticed something similar too.

This is such a bad week for our girl. She's obviously devastated by these attacks. When is she not devastated by attacks?

Add into that the major personal loss she's going through.

Not to mention some of her fans want nothing more than to criticize her for everything she does (Not referring to this thread either).

but the fans also judge Gaga positively off of social media.... just look at the whole Sonja social media thing...  and you can't really say the others don't donate millions, if they do it without the media knowing.... If anything, everybody donates because it's used for tax purposes later.

We can agree to disagree. I'm not saying she's a heartless bitch only coldly using tragedies for her own promotion, I don't think that. I think she feels what she feels genuinely, AND ALSO uses tragedies for promotion. Lots of celebs have friends die and they don't mention it to the world. Just saying!
