Of course this horrible terror attack is also breaking news here in Germany. Since last night I am following the German as well as the British news - nonetheless I am confused about the following points: 1) Why are there still so many people missing? 2) German media is reporting, that there might be much more than the officially 59 injured people. Moreover a British tabloid is reporting, that there are at least 119 people (severely) injured. I just think it's irresponsible and wrong when people and especially politicans say "don't let terrorists win" and literally do nothing to change the situation and the same horrible thing happens again after a month.. people should not perceive it as a win-lose situation.. it's a situation where action must be done.. everytime after an attack we hear "the attacker was known to the authorities" and all I'm thinking is "WELL IF HE WAS KNOWN THEN WHY TF DID U LET HIM WANDER AROUND FREE????!!!!!!!" That said, I do like the sentiment behind not letting the terrorists win. It basically just means we have to keep living. We can't just decide to stop living because we're afraid of the terrorists. Thank you! As far as I know, the suicide bomber did luckily not get into the arena, so the Islamist terrorist decided to blow up himself inside of the foyer of the Manchester Arena. Such as not performing One Last Time etc. Pretty sure she'll postpone or cancel the tour though. She's obviously not in the right mental state. A lot of people got split up because they went their separate ways shortly before it happened. Someone said one of their group went to the toilet. Another said someone had to leave early because they had work tomorrow. So, when the chaos kicked off and everyone started running, they were thinking: "Should I wait around for them or should I just get out of here?" It's the whole survival vs. the need to wait for loved ones that happens. Maybe some people decided to just put their own safety first and evacuate quicker to reduce the crowds and then hang around outside to see if everyone else came out. I also think it's a real possibility that some people are in so much shock that they're walking around in a daze. Some of them didn't have parents with them and considering that Ariana only went to 4 cities here, there were a lot who didn't even come from Manchester and don't know the area. There were ones interviewed from Liverpool, Glasgow and Ayrshire. It must be very daunting to have no idea where you're going, particularly if you're very young or have no way of getting in contact with anyone. I guess we'll have to wait until tomorrow to hear the full story. There's at least 13 children at various hospitals - 8 in total. That's a lot to keep track of. Well, one concertgoer said that he thought it was odd that no one was searched before they went in and being a frequent concertgoer, he thought that stuff was pretty standard in most venues now, so he was surprised that somewhere this big wasn't doing it. My dad was saying when things like this happen and there's an investigation, it's discovered that in most cases, a lapse in security was partly caused by certain people not doing their jobs right and I'm inclined to agree. I know when I went The Hydro, my bag got searched both times, even when I was the only one walking through the doors. And you can't get into the arena unless you have a ticket and once you've left the building post-show, you aren't allowed back in.
