I am not talking about charts, I'm talking about my old Gaga, ambitious, full of bravery and empowerment, now all the time she's crying and she's afraid of everything. I am talking about her attitude.

She's gone. You should move on, because she's not coming back. Gaga is older, wiser, different, changed...and it will continue to happen. That doesn't mean she isn't still ambitious, brave and promoting empowerment.

Gaga was just suspended ten stories up in front of millions of people. She sang live and did a complicated fifteen minute live show in front of millions of people. The year before that, she sang the National Anthem live at the biggest sporting event of the year. She agreed to sing a freaking Sound of Music Medley at the Oscars, in front of Julie Andrews! She put out a jazz album and then an Americana pop/folk album. She signs up to do world tours with major stage movements and choreography, even though she has three metal pins in her hip. Lastly, Gaga admitted to the world that she was raped and performed a song that bared her soul to all those watching. How is Gaga "afraid of everything" and not "brave"? :smh:

Maybe it's a little bit sad she isn't promoting... but I mean, I am not into charts so...

Anyways, she's filming a movie, her best friend has just passed away and she's planning/rehearsaling her new tour and maybe writting new songs. She is human like all of us, maybe it only was a buzz single because of Coachella but please, let her take a breath and just enjoy the music ;)

THIS SO MUCH!!!!

It's really sad that some people here are having this kind of wrong accusations that she is not ambitious or brave anymore just because they cannot agree with the way she evolved or the musical path she took.

"It's so important to continue to do research to find a cure."

Y'all can continue not paying attention to the things Gaga says, but most people here know that Gaga writes about her life and she wouldn't  have written a song called The Cure if she didn't know in her heart that there are millions of people out there who need a cure.

You need to stop already :sharon::sharon: The fact that she was talking about a cure when she was talking about Grigio Girls which IS actually about her friend that had cancer doesn't mean that "the cure" which is CLEARLY a lovesong is about her friend.

Stop trying to give deep meanings to every song, just because it's Gaga.

Actually, listening to the lyrics, there is nothing indicative that The Cure is a love song.

Somewhat, but since it was a standalone single and peaked at #39 is pretty good without heavy promo.

She doesn't say clearly it's about a lover but these lyrics are clearly not something that anyone would say to a friend :rip:

May not have the fancy things
But I'll give you everything
You could ever want, it's in my arms

So baby tell me yes
And I will give you everything
So baby tell me yes
And I will be all yours tonight
So baby tell me yes
And I will give you everything
I will be right by your side

Rub your feet, your hands, your legs
Let me take care of it, babe
Close your eyes, I'll sing your favorite song
I wrote you this lullaby
Hush now baby, don't you cry
Anything you want could not be wrong

I don't see how this applies to a specific lover

Sure she is calling her baby, but she also calls Asia baby. It's not just for a lover. She's just telling her she'll be by her side. And she's doing in it a way that's not too obvious so that the casual listener won't have to think about, you know, cancer.

This is actually very indicative that she's talking about her best friend (remember she's known sonja for almost a decade, she's not like a random friend of hers).

Gaga always writes her songs to be as general as possible in order to make them relatable to everyone.. If the song was about a Sonja it would definitely be more specific and also we would already know it (like we knew with grigio girls)

I think it is definitely a mix of those, like of course she wanted the sing to be relatable to everyone but I can't imagine Gaga writing a song called The Cure with lyrics like the person not be cured so all she has to give is her love, without her having Sonja in mind.

I mean, Gaga has done this before. Don't you think Speechless sounds like a love song? If Gaga hadn't said it was about her dad, would most of us had known?
