No. I take it they're discussing artists with a history of heavy pop music who are going lighter, softer and acoustic. Given Harry just released his debut album, I don't think he applies. None of the One Direction members have released music in line with their group releases.

But harry was heavy pop before and rn he's going the Joanne way too, like this article says about Miley. Zayn wasn't ridin' the Joanne wave. The other bandmates, idk. I wasn't that interested on their projects- Haven't heard Liam and Niall was just boring (Even though it also feels he could fit Joanne rn) haha. I do understand what u say about them being new artists as a solo, so not being considered as past pop acts.

You missed my point though. Billboard is comparing the most recent works of Miley and Gaga to their previous, in which there is quite a difference. For Harry, there is no comparison because he just released his debut album. Comparing his debut album to the work of One Direction is not viable either, as that is not representative of him as a solo artist. So while Harry, Gaga, and Miley are exhibiting similar trends, Billboard is making a comparison to earlier solo work in which Harry just doesn't apply.
