This year the iconic Israeli spokesperson Ofer Nachshon announced that their broadcaster IBA had shut down. The result of that was that Israel had no broadcaster that was a member of the EBU and would not be allowed to participate in future editions of Eurovision. Their new broadcaster IPBC has applied for EBU membership, which is not yet approved but the EBU has agreed to make an exception so Israel can participate in Eurovision events. I really hope Ofer will work for IPBC. The spokespersons usually have a small part in Eurovision but Ofer has been presenting Israels votes every year for as long as I can remember and almost always learning to say something in the host country's native language so it would feel a little empty without him. I see they made it official a little time ago tho, so yaaasss. Yeah, I know Kosovo will not participate but I'll keep the faith for a miracle to happen. Macedonia once confirmed their participation but they took it back, a mess. Moldova, Russia and Hungary all had amazing results the last time they participated, so besides financial reasons, I don't see why they wouldn't participate. The fan clubs in each country choose a song from their national selections that will get a second chance to represent their country.
