Kiddo is an underrated, undiscovered pop masterpiece. It's one of those rare definitely pop albums that feels like what pop music would sound like if the dance/EDM/electronic pop trend didn't happen.

While yes, the album is definitely electropop, it doesn't really sound like anything that is/was currently on the radio during it's release, and it doesn't closely follow any trends. Not sure what you feel on the matter, but this was my reaction to the album. It's really refreshing. 

Say My Name kind of follows a more mainstream sound, but it works, and it still has that Styrke sound which is rather quirky and it doesn't deviate THAT much from the sound Kiddo had. Can't wait for the next album!

2014-15 really was the brief golden year of alternative pop  Kiddo, Froot by marina, evergreen by broods, badlands by halsey, goddess by banks, art angels by grimes,  no mythologies to follow by mø, queen of the clouds by tove lo and plenty more. Idk why the sound fizzled out so quickly

I don't think the sound has fizzled out, it's just a tad harder to find on the charts, or albums that are devoted to that sound. I think my recent favorite that has a more alt pop feel is Låpsley. Definitely check her out if you haven't already!

It got very repetitive. They all started to sound the same.
