There is zero indication that Gaga would have focused on releasing an EP or "fixing" her pop career if this movie project wasn't happening; you're just assuming that's the case because you think she has a problem that needs fixing. It's like even her fans think she's in some sort of make or break situation with her career when that has Never. Been. The. Case. She headlined the Superbowl this year. And Coachella. She's filming a movie with ****ing Bradley Cooper. These gigs weren't demanded of her because she's trying to fix something that's broken - she got those gigs because Lady Gaga is a massive name in music. Always was, still is, and still will be. Gaga dropped The Cure out of thin air with no context (or even subtext) as to what purpose it's serving. She released it to radio because why not, but besides that it seems like it was just some fan-service. Us piling on expectations for her to do extra work for the song is just our own stupid ****. If she chose to do something because she knew it would make her a success, I don't think she'd be happy. If she works for the love of the craft, it brings happiness and fulfillment. My point is, Gaga isn't after success anymore, she was before and that's why she had number 1 singles, made perfumes, world tours, etc etc. It's not where she's at anymore cause she realized she wasn't happy working that way.
